The 2028 NFL Playoffs:

Can we win the rare back-to-back Super Bowl?

Wild Card Weekend:

I am rooting for the Jets against the Chiefs, the Titans against the Bills both on the road, and then the Chargers against the Jags who beat me this year, but in their place all Wild Cards.

Results:

The Chiefs over the Jets 23-21
The Bills over the Titans 17-13
The Jaguars over the Chargers 35-31

All home and division seeds won, so we won’t get this easy.

The Buccaneers over the Rams 17-10
Vikings over the Panthers 31-24
Giants over 49ers 27-23

No Super Bowl Rematch with the Panthers out. Also, all home teams won in the NFC

We host the Jaguars!

Divisional Champ Weekend:

This is the battle of 1.1 picks, and they are the ONLY team to beat us this year, but in their place, can we return the favor? Nope, they sweep us with a low scoring 23-16

Perron is 23 of 266, 1:1score by Walker, Jennings was 9 for 144, pick by CB Bullock, light sacks and blocks. Rember we beat them in the AFC Championship last year.

Also:

The Chiefs won at home 44-38 over the Bills

Cardinals over Giants 22-7
Vikings over Bucs 33-27

The Conference Championship:

I am rooting for the Jags since they beat us and I’d love them to win since they are my real life fave team.

Chiefs over Jags, 20-27

Vikings over Cards 31-28

Not to be!

The 2028 NFL Super Bowl:

The 9-8 Vikings BEAT the 14-3 Chiefs 20-27!!! Love it!!!

League Awards:

All-Pro 1st Team:

OG Zak Zinter
OC Jake Brendel

All-Pro 2nd Team:

QB Martin Perron!!!!
RB Kenneth Walker!!!!
CB Martin Emerson
CB Ian Ruble!!!!

The only two League MVPS and Off. Players of the year the past 5 years are Mahomes and Lawrence. That’s Perron’s first All Pro. RB Walker’s too! That’s Zak’s 2nd with us and Jake’ 3rd overall and 2nd with us. That’s Emerson’s 3rd All Pro. Note no front 7 All Pros this time. That’s Ruble’s 1st All Pro! Another solid All Pros save for Front 7, no Garrett, Jackson, Kneeland, etc.

Stats:

Throwing that Ball:

QB Perron – 409 of 581, 4806, 41:10, 111.5 QBR

Perron 5th in passing yards, 2nd in pass scores, 5th best QBR

Running that Ball:

RB Walker – 262 for 1242, ypc of 4.74, 8 rush scores
QB Perron – 110 for 508, 8 scores
RB Zartman - 108 for 550, 5.09 ypc, 2 scores

Walker was my first 1k rush year with the Browns and 6th most in yards, 2 behind league leader in scores. Ditto Perron with 49 total scores. Nice stuff running game!!!

Catching that Ball:

WR St. Brown – 113 for 1499, 16 scores
WR Jennings – 94 for 1097, 12 scores
WR Chaplin – 69 for 735, 4 scores
TE Kuhn - 40 for 512, 3 scores

St. Brown was 8th in yards, 3rd in scores ; two 1k years by my WRs.

Blocking that Ball:

C Brendel – 58 KRB, 6 pancakes, 6 sacks allowed too
OG Zinter – 57 KRB, 14 and 6 sacks too
RT Pryor – 42 KRB, 2 pancakes and 7 sacks allowed
LT Alvarez – 26 KRB, 10 sacks allowed
OG Bucci – 25 KRB and 2 sacks allowed

Hello Pryor with 40/40 ability!!! Down year for Bucci after All Pro last year. He had just 81 KRO, whereas Zinter was 126 and Brendel 139, and the same as Pryor, who had a 50+% block %.

Kicking that Ball:

K Hatley – 19 of 22, long of 40, 64 of 65

Just 3 missed FGs out of 22 is not great, but just one missed PAT at 65 shots is studly.

Punting that Ball:

P Rosborough – 76 punts for a net avg of 40.11 and 40 in the 20.

Amazing inside the 20%!

Rushing that Ball:

DE Garrett – 9.5 sacks, 2 TFL, 2 blocks 20 hurries,13 QBKD, 2 FF
DE Kneeland – 9 sacks, 3 TFL, 2 blocks, 14 hurries, 14 QBKD
SLB Kus – 8 sacks, 8 TFL, 1 block, 4 hurries, 10 QBKD, 2 FF; 2 fumrec,
DE Fast – 7 sacks, 1 block, 4 hurries, 11 qbkd, 2 FF
DT Logue – 6.5 sacks, 1 TFL, 3 blocks, 12 hurries and QBKD too; 3 FF; 2 fumrec,
WLB Owusu-Koramoah - 4.5 sacks, 3 hurries, 6 QBKD
ILB Montano – 4 sacks, 10 TFL, 1 hurry, 5 QBKD, 1 INT, 11 pasdef
DT Jackson – 3.5 sacks, 3 TFL, 4 blocks, 7 hurries, 12 QBKD

No one had more than 10 sacks. Garrett led in sacks, hurries, Kneeland in QBKD and Jackson blocks. Kus had one more sack than last’ years 1st Team All Pro. Not a great year by Jackson. Rookie ILB Montano led in TFL. Down year in stats with no All Pros. Logue led in FF with 3.

Covering that Ball:

CB Ruble - 8 picks, 2 RET TDs, 12 pasdef
CB Emerson – 6 picks, 13 pasdef
CB Bullock – 4 picks, 9 pasdef
FS Hellams – 2 and 6 pasdef

We are back in pics though, and that’s Emerson’s 3rd All Pro in our 5 years, and then Ruble’s 1st. Emerson led our team in pasdef too. Great year for nickelback Bullock!! Montano has the 3rd highest pasdef!

Good year folks, statistically, offensively and defensively! Now let’s win that 2nd Super Bowl!!!

Rookie Lookie #3:

1.32 – TE Moises Kuhn, Youngstown State, 46/66; 50/64; 57/64
2.32 – RB Louie Block, Cincinnati, 44/52; 45/49; 46/49
3.22 - SILB Elias Montano, Wisconsin, 37/55; 45/61; 58/58
3.32 – FS Evan Zawacki, Iowa, 33/46; 42/53; 50/53
6.32 – WLB Darian Anaya, Mississippi State, 36/58; 41/59; 41/59
7.32 – OC Oscar Rhimes, Alabama, 19/40; 25/41; CUT

Slight fall in pot by Montano.

UFAs
:

QB Quentin Bodnar – 27/45; 29/40; 29/40
ILB Henry Zuniga – 30/55; 36/57; 36/57
ILB Rashod Rasmussen – 29/51; 34/49; CUT
CB Chris Salmon – 20/49; 31/45; 31/45
OC Bubba Nyland – 20/49; 27/47; 28/47
OG Roberto Hisle – 19/48; 24/51; 24/51
WR Alonzo Kimble – 29/40; 31/38; 34/38

Team Awards:

Offensive Player of the Year: QB Martin Perron – Ah yes, dude got his first All Pro, baby’s first steps!!! Can he be the first non-Mahomes/Lawrence to win MVP and/or Off. MVP?

Defensive Player of the Year: CB Ian Ruble
– Drafted in the same draft as Perron, this studly late rounder just had a massive 8 picks and won his first All Pro! Great year Ian, here’s to many more!!!

Heart Award – RT Matt Taylor – Could there be anyone else with his 52 run blocking but the best block % on my team? Enjoy your retirement if you head out…

See you next year!! Can we win our 2nd Super Bowl?

The 2029 NFL Offseason:

Retirements: 12 year vets C Brendel, DE Garrett, 11th year RT Taylor, no 10th, 9th year WR Jennings and LS Triner. I hit the end of the year button, and…Garrett retires….sad…I hope to see you in the HOF in 5 years!! We won you that Super Bowl! He is the only one to head out, I was hoping RT Taylor would too.

I score a 55.

Stadium Stuff:
Our new stadium opens in ’33 - Our TIX sold out, I keep them there!

Staff Draft:

No one needs to be signed or extended. I hire none

The Rookie Draft Revealed:

Do we need a RB starter after our RB fell but still posted a strong statline? It has a one QB near the top, overrated, 7.8 Kaden Goering. Then at 8.0 is a RB named JD Odom at underrated, also 7.1 RB Underrated McMichael is there too! I need to draft a stud DE for Garrett, and there is a DE 7.9 hard to read Jaiden Consiglio, 7.8 DE Moore is as scouted and 7.5 DE Wentworth is underrated! Three 7.0 studs, RT 7.6 Eklund at underrated for Taylor, OLB 7.1 is there too, 7.2 DT and that’s 10 7.0+ dorks.

Four QBs in the 6s, just one 6.7 RB, FOUR TEs in the 6….This is a deep draft for them, for replacing Jennings in the draft we have 6.9 then two low 6s and that’s it. One 6.9 G, that’s it, 6 6.s Ots, LS Zane Bryant seems studly, as scouted, at DE outside of the 7.0s, we have four 6s, just two 6s at DT, 3 6s ILB, 2 OLB, two low 6s at CB, one underrated 6.8 S named Peebles.

Do I trade up for a stud DE to replace Garrett since he was such a key part of our identity?

Tag: I don’t tag Jennings,57/57 never fell in three years age 31

I’ll see you at FA!!!

The 2029 NFL Hall of Fame:

Two made, it, TE Travis Kelce and OT Trent Williams.

The 2029 NFL Free Agency:

Day 1 – I have signed 47 and cap space of just 5.9 mill. I’ll need to free some up.

Veteran Extensions First to Free Up Cap!!!

In order by cap:

WR St. Brown – age 29, 62/62, cap hit of 18.12, wants one year extension to raise to 19.20, nope, no cash.
C Brendel – Age 36, cap hit of 13 wants one year extension to raise to 15.67 by a few mill. Nope
DT Hall – 55/55, age 25. One All Pro; Pass rush of 66 and run stopping too, cap hit of 7.72, wants three year, 30.51 cap hit raise to 8.90. I freed him I’d save 7.3. He’s my starter across from DT Jackson.
RB Walker – 48/48, cap hit of 4.72, age of 28, if I cut him I’d free up 3.61, he wants real cash to raise to 9.76.
CB Bullock – 55/55, age of 26, cap hit of 4.34, wants 5 year deal at 32.78 mill for cap hit rise to 5.19 he’s my nickelback, I want to, but…I need cash...
RT Pryor – 40/40 cap hit of 3.95, to extend increases to 5.1. Cut frees up. 3.15

What about my 2nd biggest cap hit after QB Perron, with two years left named CB Malone at 30.54, age 28 70/70. Three All Pros, to extend him he’d like another year added at 67.62 with a cap hit fall this year of 23.07, more than 7 mill. Done. I have free 13.37

If I cut SS Legins at 53/53 and a cap hit of 11.32 I’d free up 9.97. Done, I have free 23.34.

Anyone else I can offer?

Rookies Prior to Extensions
:

OG Bucci – 69/69 – One All Pro, cap hit of 2.23, wants 3 years, 36.63, cap hit rise to 10.14.

P Rosborough – 71/71, cap hit of 1.8, wants 16.29 over four years to raise cap hit to 3.37

Extending them both would be a cap hit of 1.57 and 8ish for around 10.5. Done.

Resigns:

Free are RB Zartman, CB Sinnott, WR Jennings, MLB Hart, MLB Cannon Jennings wants real money to resign, like 37 mill over 2 years real, no thanks!

I have free cash of 13.94. I extend CB Bullock and now have 13.18. Do I keep 3.15 mill for signing a cheap WR, or cut DT Hall to add money for a real WR? I won’t cut him barring a really amazing WR, or another stud I need. Ready for moving forward?

Day 2 – LS? Nope!

WR:

WR Marvin Harrison – 63/63, age 26, wants 4 years, 79.21. cap hit of 14.98. I could offer 15 easy. But that’s 5 mil too much even freeing 7.3 with DT Hall.

Everybody else in the Harrison/Jennings range…save for…

WR Puca Nacua - age 27, 51/51, wants 2 years at 11.49, cap hit of 5.19.

I won’t offer Nacua but could I free up 5 more for Harrison with St. Brown? RB Walker would free up 3.61. With the 7.3 from Hall, that’s 10.91, from a cap free of 13.18, so I’d have free 14.09 for signs, and I’d go a bit red if offered and taken, but do I want to cut two starters for one? Sure, I cannot sign them for the future, so they are in the last year, and one is in their 40’s ability wise.

I also need stater RB from the draft, if one arrives, DE for Garrett, RT for Pryor, backup RB for Zartman otherwise, starter WR for Jennings if not in FA, and then others. Maybe SS for Legins, although I could move over one of my 50+ FSs if not.

Other good budgets at positions of need:

DE Milton Williams - age 29, 69/69, pass rush 97, wants two year deal of 8.55, cap hit of 4.01

RT Brady Atchison – age 26, 57/57, run block of just 36, wants three years at 13.37

RT Jawaan Taylor – Age 31 run block of 89, 54/54, wants 2 years, 7.39 at cap hit of 3.74

SS Damar Hamlin – age 31, 58/58. Wants cap hit of 2.97 on a 3 year 9.97 deal.

Other that the low run bocking of Atchison all are great cheap dorks for a while that would help bunches. Do I offer one of these, or cut DT Hall, chase WR Harrison and if he signs, cut RB Walker. If I cut Hall, I can start DT Logue who has 77 pass rush. Not a bad drop. And signing a 2nd stud 60+ WR while St. Brown is still there in his final year seems to make all of the sense.

I cut Hall, and offer Harrison a 15.5 mill cap hit.

Day 7
– Harrison signs, I cut Walker and have free 8.59. I need two RBs now, one in the draft and one in UFA. I head to the draft!!!!

The 2029 NFL Amateur Draft:

We are drafting 1.28. I need two RBs, one for Walker early to start, one in UFA for Zartman, starting SS for the cut guy, or backup, backup CB for Sinnott, Starting early stud only for DE for Garrett, since I have two 50+s and have Kneeland, so stud or sub, 1 sub LB for Hart/Cannon that left, stud starter or sub DT for Hall cut, starting RT for Pryor, LS for Triner and DON’T TRADE UP Barring studs, which ILB Montano last year wasn’t.

1st Round
– Picking first is Seattle, are they taking 7.8 QB Hard to read Goering? The mocks have them taking the top 6.9 WR. They take…the QB. Our pick arrives my staff like the top RT on the board, Holl, 6.3, hard to read…he’s a pass blocking specialist, strong blocking strength too, not great run blocking though. DE Barnhardt is 6.5 and hard to read too. Great at diag, run defense and okay pass rushing. RT Reed as scouted, 6.3 great run blocking, strength, poor pass rushing. RT Holl or DE Barnhart? Holl.

2nd Round – Our 2.28 arrives! Our staff like WR Gus White, 5.3, as scouted. De Helton, As scouted, 6.1 left. DT? There are four in the top 5.00 with rating, one underrated but lower bars. SS? Schott is overrated. None of these have great end of the round sexy bars. I don’t like them. DE Helton or DT Ouelette with a 5.7 rating and underrated nether with good bars? I go DT here.

3rd Round
– Our 3.28 is here!!! WR White still on the board, my staff like him. I want LS Zane Brant, the stud, is this too high to grab him? Not for stud K and P, but LS? Remember we traded the 4.28 to Arizona. DE Helton on the board, if I grab him, will LS still be there at 5.28? I doubt it. Helton or Brant? I could trade up for Brant after drafting Helton. But I am giving away a lot of trades for mid range, can I give up an early 5th for Brant? A stud special teamer? Does that count as trades for studs? I do it, I take DE Helon

5th Round - I trade for Detroit’s early 5.2 for my 5th and 7th this year, and a future 6th I grab the stud LS Brant! He’s also from Ohio so that’s good karma.

6th Round – Our 6th round pick is here! Our staff like WR Xavier Bravo a 4.6 hard to read. How about S or RB or LB here instead since Bravo’s not a good need. 5.5 as scouted OLB Norbert Toney? 5.1 hard to read RB Cato? CB 5.0 very underrated Deron James? S? 5.0 very underrated ILB Meagher? I do Meagher.

The 2029 Cleveland Browns Draft:

1.28 – RT Lionel Holl, Oklahoma State, 34/61;
2.28 – DT Max Ouelette, Furman, 37/49;
3.28 – DE Helton, Alabama, 37/50
5.2 – LS Zane Brant, Ohio State 81/82 – long snapping of 84
6.28 – ILB Cameron Meagher, Susquehanna, 23/49,

Remember Holl is hard to read…We hope Max can grow since he’s bad elsewise. DE Helton as Scouted, ILB Meagher very underrated, so that could be nice. Yay draft!!!

Many times in older games, rookies with the same rating were sleepers, and this also happened with the Panthers too. Banta is the only 50 rated UFA.

2nd Year:

RB Josue Reyes – 40/47

Day 2 – OC Banta signs!

Day 3 – RB Estepp and CB Cobos sign! I increase offers for Hash, RB Reyes.

The 2029 NFL Preseason:

I have signed 56

Week 2 – Atlanta – We host the Falcons. We win 17—12, low scoring, no injuries

Week 3 – At Chicago – We head to the Bears! We win a shoot out 38-36 – no injuries

Week 4 – Tampa Bay – We got a winning record, can we go undefeated? We win 34-19, no injuries

Rookie Lookie #2:

1.28 – RT Lionel Holl, Oklahoma State, 34/61; 40/61
2.28 – DT Max Ouelette, Furman, 37/49; 43/55
3.28 – DE Helton, Alabama, 37/50; 43/48
5.2 – LS Zane Brant, Ohio State 81/82; 82/82 – long snapping of 84
6.28 – ILB Cameron Meagher, Susquehanna, 23/49;30/45

Okay Holl. DT Ouelette rises as expected. Fall by very underrated ILB Meagher.

The UFAs:

FS Graham Hash – 25/43; 27/36 – great punt return at 52/77
RB Desmond Estepp – 41/43; 43/49
CB Glenn Cobos – 27/43; 32/42 - CUT
OC Tywan Banta – 24/49; 29/47 - CUT
QB Russell Benavides – 34/47; 36/47
WR Emanual Selvage – 24/38; 26/36 – 31/52 kr Ret
CB D’Anthony Elliot - 31/42; 36/42

No fall by QB Benavides! Estepp rises as expected. Big bust by FS Hash,

I cut three:

QB Barnhart
OC Banta
CB Cobos

Here’s my roster!

The 2029 Cleveland Browns

Here you go! Nickelback Bullock dropped to 47/47 in year 5 from 55/55, we are starting 49/49 DT Northrup, but Jackson in all pass rush situations, rookie Ouelette is starting for DT Logue, and RT Holl starting too. FS Hellams rose to 55/55 and is starting at SS. RB Block is starting for RB Estepp.

Ready for Holl?

Here he is! As you can see, he’s not a run blocking with just 25/48 there, he’s great at pass block with 54/93 and strength at 81. He’s not great at schemes or endurance.

We are ready for the final season of the decade! Can we win our 2nd and finish strongly?
