The Generic Happy Holiday thread

Doesn't seem a particular holiday or celebration is worth calling out in its own thread nowadays, so setting up a all-encompassing one.

Happy July 4 everyone. And as one of our greatest Presidents said ...

Quote:
That word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom … Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution … but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist."

"And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: 'We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive!' Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"

Going to have baby back pork ribs, Modelo beer (have to finish 'em), packaged salad, and frozen Arby's curly fries (air fryer).

Weather is overcast and just heard thunder, so possibly no outside deck today.

Happy July 4th! How are you liking the Modelo's? I'm going to be celebrating with some Corona's. What is more American than Mexican bear, right?

Modelo's > Bud Light

Not a big beer drinker but have to finish the six pack (taking up fridge space).

In the 90's here, with a heat index over 100 so not doing much outdoors here in Myrtle it looks like. Happy July 4th!

Just to add to theme, I'm grilling up some fajitas. Going full "feliz 4 de Julio."

No big deal. I read a week or two ago that it has overtaken Bud Light and is now the #1 selling beer in the US.

I've never had it before so decided to try it.

This is an outrage.

Fans Outraged By Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Getting Canceled.

When will we ever figure out how to eat food indoors?

No doubt, the GOAT

Joey Chestnut ate 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the men’s division of the Nathan’s hot dog eating contest for a record 16th time, and Miki Sudo downed 39.5 dogs to win the women’s competition for the 9th straight time in an Independence Day event marked by a lengthy weather delay.

I would say Happy Holidays, but I think I will be imprisoned for being woke.

Nah, I have a whole annual (pre-emptive) rant about that very thing. TLDR version is that I use HH if I doubt I'll encounter you between 12/25 and 1/1, I'll use the holiday-specific version if I think I probably will.

Granted, I don't typically invoke HH until December.

I'm currently drinking a combo of butterscotch, fireball, and decaf coffee to bring on my Christmas cheer. It is very much working.

The New Year is here, and my body is telling me it is a very bad time for me to suddenly get taste for hard liquor.
