Just to follow up on my comment about Trump's changes having unintended consequences and then getting walked back in the Stock Market thread..

It occurs to me that Trump's changes are an infantile version of the "Move Fast-Break Things" mentality compared to Elon Musk's version

Trump Moves fast, breaks things, but doesn't have the follow up to direct the movement where it would have the most effect towards a goal (mostly because the goal is unfocused and Trump prefers to breakthings rather than move fast.

Musk (through DOGE) moves fast, breaks things (the lever of government bureaucracy) and then drills through that break in a focused, directed manner.

Those people were never going to be allowed back. And there is nothing for them to come back to anyway since Biden and company flattened everything in it.

And any Trump plan is going to have similar limits on how many people can leave too. The Philadelphi corridor is narrow and it's not easy to check, feed, house, and provide medical care to millions of people on a whim. It was always going to take years (maybe decades). Trump's plan might be a little quicker because Biden killed so many civilians in Gaza.

Just complete and utter moral cowardice to do a 180 on everything you stood for just because a new President is in office. But I told you that you'd flip when inauguration day came. Just figured some of you would be less obvious and maybe wait a few months.

His miscalculations on Trump sealed his fate as nothing more than a footnote in history rather than the guy that reformed the GOP and the country. He's still responsible for the current state of the judiciary but won't get credit for it.

Rather than removing Trump at any of the opportunities that presented themselves, he decided not to risk damaging the party. He also thought Trump was just a useful tool to get the things he wanted done and didn't realize he was actually the useful tool to Trump. Once Trump had established his control over the party McConnell was no longer useful and is now seen as an out of touch dinosaur and whether or not he's even a republican is in question for a significant part of the current GOP.

This man probably imagined retiring as a legend in Washington. Instead, his political career and legacy were devoured by the monster he helped create.

Defense Minister Israel Katz says the military should prepare exit options by land, sea and air so that anyone who wishes to can leave for "any country willing to accept them."

Katz, however, is already getting pushback from countries he called on to accept refugees. He says Spain, Norway, Ireland and other countries that have criticized Israel's actions during its war against Hamas should take in the Palestinians from Gaza.

"Their hypocrisy will be exposed if they refuse to do so," Katz said in a statement.
