I think Vance is far more savvy than people give him credit for. Just recently he was humping his couch and now he's a heartbeat (of a 79 year old with a stressful job) away from being President, one of the most powerful positions on Earth.

And in part because he's done a nice job of playing his role very well while biding his time. Here's an honest question, Jon. Both Vance and RFJ Jr. have said the worst possible things about Trump, yet now are willing to put their morals aside to gain power.

Now that they are in power, and likely to gain in the coming months because of Trump's condition, how can you trust their word that they are going to do what's best for the people and not just themselves?

I've always thought that when someone shows you who they are, believe them.

This. Both men are following the playbook that has been written for them so where they stand on policy is not really relevant at this point. Trump's charisma is what sells the playbook IMO. Whenever Vance has had to sell the playbook he, like all the other Trump wannabes, misses the mark. I think he is tolerated more than anything else. I think Vance is smarter but he is too smart to allow himself to be seen as one of the "common" men. I don't think he could allow himself to be seen as a "victim" as Trump does when the nasty women ask him a question about the Epstein files.

That does not mean I don't think he can't be successful for his side. This is going to come off as morbid but sooner rather than later would benefit Vance if/when he ascends to the Oval Office. He needs the R's to have control if not overwhelming control of everything at the start of his presidency. I don't think he would do well with the Dems getting control of either the House or the Senate.

JD Vance has the funniest and weirdest life in politics. He's a DEI entry into an Ivy League school. Writes a book that absolutely shits on rural white people but those people don't read books so it never mattered in politics. Then he joins Peter Thiel's harem and gets bought a Senate seat and then is added as VP to appease the tech weirdos. Has to do a complete 180 on Trump and white nationalism to appease the base but is also married to an Indian woman whom he seems to hate now.

I get that efficiency and money don't matter to the administration but moving the Space Center away from NORAD seems incredibly dumb. So dumb that I wonder if it's one of those "yeah we'll do it in 5 years" when he's out of office and it can just be cancelled by sane people.

The Air Force actually says they prefer it to be in Huntsville. The biggest challenge was the 4-5 years it will take in building up the facility for the command. In the end Trump is doing it for petty political reasons, but it is not like he is moving it to someplace that doesn't have strong space connection. When I lived outside of Huntsville (the town I lived in is the basis for my board name), I knew a lot of people that worked at the Space and Rocket center. I once toured the area where they were putting together the parts for the International Space Station. It is the only place I would I ever consider living in Alabama. People were generally friendlier and more well educated than the rest of the state.

I know this question was directed at Jon but I just wanted to address this piece. I have 100% trust in their word that they will do what's best for THEIR people as well as themselves. I know this because they were willing to push their morals aside to gain power.

I will let others decide who they think THEIR people are. I am also 100% confident that many who think they are one of THEIR people will be find out that they are actually the contrary. Well at least until the next election.

This is mostly regarding Vance as I think RFK Jr. has already shot his wad destroying the vaccine programs and getting fluoride out of the water. He will be allowed to stay in his job as long as he is useful as a rubber stamp but I think it is more likely he will be bounced in favor of someone who can better communicate things like convincing Americans that organic food is worse for you than conventional foods.
