Mike Gundy fired. Despite the horrible results, it's kind of surprising he got fired during the season.

Vandy is ranked in the top 25 in consecutive weeks for the only the second time since 1958.

Well that was some absolutely horrendous attempts at tackling by FSU to end the half.

This is kind of how I feel about fans storming the field/court. I don’t wanna be the wet blanket that stomps on spontaneous fun. But people really are just too stupid to do this apparently. |

I don’t really watch much college football anymore, so maybe I’m saying something stupid here.. But I have the LSU-Ole Miss game on. Is Nussmeier still considered a top QB prospect? He is decidedly unmpressive from what I can see.

QB play across the country has been pretty underwhelming so far, at least for the highly touted prospects.
Nussmeier looks completely checked out this game. |

That hit on the Mississippi State QB that resulted in the scoop and score i thought might have killed him.

That's the problem with him, he looks okay enough against so-so teams, anything better than that and he has issues. 6-4 vs the SEC as a starter now, 20 TDs / 15 INTs. And his biggest win as a starter -- a 27-24 OT upset of then-#9 Ole Miss last year -- yes he threw for 337 and 3 TDs ... but did it on 22/51 with 2 INTs, basically only delivered on the final drive to force the OT.

Bama is 8 for 8 on third downs, and Georgia is just back to shitting the bed against Alabama. Kirby just can't get help but piss his pants everytime he sees crimson.

Early q3 and Bama has 8 different receivers with a double-digit catch (nine if you count the one to the 370 pound tackle, which is showing as a rush)
That's pretty surgical, no matter how things end up

If those two play calls don't get Bobo fired, he must have the greatest blackmail envelope in the history of blackmail.

Everything about both of those calls was confounding. I just really wanted some reporter to have the balls to ask Kirby after the game "Does the diarrhea just explode out your ass when you see Alabama come out of the tunnel, or does it slowly leak out throuout the game?" |

His biggest shit is the guy with the headset calling plays honestly. I can see what Booboo was probably thinking. "Cash is mostly a pass catcher, they'll never expect him to be running" ... but they did. THEN he thinks "we had him run last time, they'll figure we won't throw to him this time" ... but they swallowed it up too. Too smart for his own good, which happens quite a bit.

Those plays were stupid, but spotting them 14 points before you even start playing is all Kirby. Not taking the easy fg to tie was also Kirby.

Kotelnicki has saved his ass. Allar isn't good but he turned him into a decent QB and modernized that offense. There would be a lot more heat on Franklin's job without him. |

My take yesterday on FB on PSU:
“The “scrappy QB who runs ok but really isn’t a runner and passes ok but really isn’t a great passer” doesn’t get it done against top 10 teams.”

Just woke up from a nap, thanks for the news! EDIT: caught up on the forums. Basically (1) everyone is happy Pittman is gone (2) everyone is good with Petrino being interim (3) not everyone wants Petrino to be permanent HC (supposedly 2 SEC wins may get him the job next year) and (4) no consensus on who the Hogs should be looking for HC. I'm good with giving Petrino a shot at HC, give him 2 full years. There's lots of problems, but Defense has more issues than Offense. Wouldn't be surprised if DC is let go before end of season. Last years losses in the portal was horrible, sure hope Petrino can stop that bleeding. It can get worse, but we were near the bottom anyways Last edited by Edward64 : 09-28-2025 at 03:12 PM. |

Petrino fires 3 assistants on day 1. I can't remember an interim coach overhauling a coaching staff like this mid year.

All 3 on defense including DC. Arguably, he should have been fired before Pittman.
No idea who will step up but odds are defense will maybe get a slight uptick but still be struggling a lot rest of year |

Does UNC know how to play pass defense?
3 plays, 75 yard TD, 40 yard pass, 35 yard TD (possibly called back) |

It was likely to happen anyway, but hiring his son as DC pretty much sealed it. These older coaches that insist on keeping their unqualified sons on staff is killing them (looking at you as well Pete Carroll). What's insane is both Stephen Belichick and Brennen Carroll were on the UW staff last year. That's not a surprise is they went 6-7 last year. |

I think two biggest coaching locks for next year is Jon Sumrall will be the coach at Kentucky and Matt Campbell will not be at Iowa State.

Georgia is cruising in this game, and already has second team in. The defense still has not looked good. This defensive line is the softest I have ever seen in the Kirby era.

I really did think this Vandy-Bama game was going to be an over-hyped blow out for Bama. So far, not looking like that at all.

Vandy had a chance to take the lead back, but then turned it over. Still plenty of time, but that felt like a game-changer.
