I can't recall the last time I saw a title THIS unstable. I've lost count of the number of "connection lost" errors in just my first hour ... and I haven't even attempted to play an actual game yet. After the eighth one, I stopped trying to count.

The menu lag is worse than the worst loading screens I can EVER recall encountering in ANY game. 10-15 seconds just to change between menus, 60 - 120 seconds just to swap out one player in your lineup. And in a game that's more built around moving between menus than ever (as Collections are more important to roster building in Diamond Dynasty than ever) ... Just to click through the teams for Live Series Collection would include over eight minutes spent staring at the spinning ball in the corner while waiting for screens to load.

Play it? It's nearly impossible to get through setting your initial lineup without multiple disconnections.

There are a lot of people, both devs and executives, who should be unemployed -- and unemployable -- before morning.

I gave away my Xbox X to my son. The Show was the main reason I had it, but I just stopped being able to get into it after awhile.

I did receive my copy of MLB on Friday. I can tell you that these issues did not exist until yesterday. Yesterday I was having a lot of issues with Diamond Dynasty with lineups and getting into games. Once I was in, it ran fine. They also acknowledged the issue and I'm sure it'll get fixed quickly.

Other than this temporary issue, I am enjoying it so far. I'm playing a batter in RTTS for the first time ever, usually I go with SP. Also playing some WBC in Diamond Dynasty.

Appreciated. I'm starting to feel like my backlog of unplayed games and Early Access games that I'm waiting for initial release to really jump into is finally piled high enough that it's deterring me from buying almost anything.

I'm beginning to think that Steam should put a restriction on how long titles can stay in Early Access. There are some Early Access titles I would consider but I've been burned a couple of times on games that just appear to be in Early Access limbo. They may never hit a 1.0 release if they haven't for several years.

Then, you have Early Access that will be updated with some major upgrade to game mechanics and force me to relearn a game I thought I knew how to play.

I get that devs might want some revenue to keep a project going in its initial stages but a 2 year Early Access period limit might be worth it from the consumer side.

Yeah, I’m out on early access unless it’s a game with really positive reviews that say the game is nearly worth a complete game, or it’s a genre I’m really into.

Way too many games never make it close to 1.0 or do a cursory update just to call it done. Let’s be honest, with AI and vibe Coding the barrier to getting something that looks good and will make people part with their cash is lower and lower all the time.

Sucks for the developers who are genuinely trying to do the right thing, but tragedy of the commons.

Xenonauts 2 is finally out of EA and into 1.0 release. I've had this one on my wishlist for a long time and I'm probably going to pick it up while it is on sale.

Just bought this and fired it up. I couldn't get through the first mission without my computer shutting down from overheating. I just have a no frills HP Pavillion 15 but it's handled X-Com 2 and Wasteland 3 just fine. Wondering if Xenonauts 2 isn't as optimized as those others or if it'd just be time for a full upgrade for me.

"Solar Expanse" a new game has launched in EA a couple of days ago. It is a management game where you run a space program exploring the solar system. I haven't bought it yet (hate EA) but it looks tempting. It is also very cheap, on sale right now for only $14.57.

I tried the old-school vibe soccer management/deckbuilder game Nutmeg over the weekend. Stickerbook graphics, very basic strategy, lot of RNG stuff.

Demo ran, so I bought it ($25) figuring me & Will combined would get that much value out of it.

I know my computer is a potato but damn, full version won't run. Usage numbers were the highest I've ever seen on Task Manager. Literally pushes everything to 100% and eventually craps out. Nothing I've seen feels remotely like that oughta happen so I figure it's just horrendous optimization.

The tradeoff is that future COD will not be day one gamepass, won't come to gamepass until approx 1 yr after release.

They made their bed. I haven't missed it enough after I canceled to want to resubscribe. Plus, I gave my son my Xbox One.

Instead of just more now it's going to be less for more. This was $19.99 six months ago (and that was after a big price hike.)

The real move would have been to get it back down to that price. It also looks like Game Pass might start bleeding games too. April wave 2 is one of the biggest loss of games in the history of the service.

I mentioned all this on social media too and got torn to pieces by accounts with sub 20 friends, so it also appears that Microsoft has the bots turned up to extra in their data centers.

I'm still out.

Out isn't really an option for me due to the gamesharing that Will & I do. The $29.99 was pretty brutal, I can live with $22.99 with less discomfort.

And I've never once had a game leave GamePass that I was still playing, most likely not even once has a game left that I'd touched in at least six months.

Has this gotten better? I've been itching for a baseball game but the early reviews were crushing it.

I gave this a shot over the weekend. I played for ~3 hours which is a ton of time for me to put into a game these days. I have to say it was pretty solid. It isn't perfect by any means and is pretty surface level, which allows you to move through season pretty quick. For $10 I think it is worth the price and supporting the developer. Updates have been consistent and adding to the overall game from what I can tell.
