Da Bears..(Fof 2k4 dynasty)
My House Rules..
1. No renegoiating deals.. unless its a HIGH loyalty guy.. and its a fair deal.. 2. Calling Offensive plays only.. cpu will handle defensive play calling 3. No exploiting trades.. 4. Hardest difficulty level.. That should be enough for now, since its Chicago.. Next post will cover the post exhibition season roster.. and a positional analysis.. |

Quarterbacks: While Chris Chandler could clearly help us win a few more games now, i'm willing to sacrifice those few extra wins to give Grossman more development time into becoming a west coast style qb. Short slants/screens and dump off passes seem to be Grossman's Fortay.
Grade:B RunningBacks: Anthony Thomas.. while rather fast and bruising, really isn't elusive enough.. or has the hands to be a west coast back So this might be a area addressed in fa or the draft in the near future. Rest of the backs are rather blah. with the scary fact being none of them can seem to hold onto the football Grade:C Wide Receivers: David Terrell is courageous... He better be cause Chicago fans will boo all his drops.. Booker isn't much better.. this is a definte area of need. Grade- Offensive line: Olin Kreutz is like a week old twinkie.. rock solid center with a soft exterior around him.. Both Guards and Tackle slot need upgrades.. Bad. Grade:C-(solely on Olin alone) Defensive Line: Phillip Daniels is a pass rushing specialist.. and Michael Haynes could develop into something special.. Keith Traylor is solid but approaching retirement age quite fast.. Again another place i'll need to address with draft or Free Agency. Grade:B Linebackers:Urlacher and Holdman are great cover linebackers with hitting skills.. Odom is Serviceable but overshadowed by the Two other backers he plays with.. Grade:B+ Defensive Backs:Hewp.. RW Mcquarters and Jerry Azumah are not good in Bump and run.. Zone.. or Man 2 man.. so what are they good at you ask? Interceptions! should be interesting.. Safety seems to be a strong spot with Mike Brown and Johnson Grade:C Kicker/punter:lousy enough said.. they'll surely cost me games Grade:F- |

Bears Lose Ugly, Edinger may lose more
San Fransisco, Ca--- For most of the Rain soaked day, The Bears controlled the tempo on defense.. Completely shutting down the 49ers passing attack. However they had no offensive answer of their own as Anthony Thomas could not get on track, and Rex Grossman Debut was marred by Dropped passes, bad route running. Paul Edinger missed 2 chip shot field goals that would have won the game. In this columnist's opinion expect changes to be made in the kicking game soon. Code:

Soldier Field- Bears have announced that Paul Edinger has been released and Matt Stover has been signed to replace him. Terms were not disclosed. Also Recently Cut Ron Dixon from the Giants has agreed to a One year deal to shore up a weak Wr group.
