Dodgers/Mets on ESPN

Is anyone else watching this game? Jose Lima just came up and walked twice in the same inning. This is crazy.

Man, I wish I was there. I've got my sister-in-law's wedding this weekend, so my annual 3-day weekend to catch a spring training game or two in Orlando is out the window this year.

The sad thing is, that's more than most of those players are going to walk all spring.

the 9 runs LA has scored so far also represents their first two weeks' worth of offense in the regular season.

Clearly, somebody never told the Mets that the pitchers are supposed to be ahead of the hitters at this stage of the spring.

And how 'bout that shortstop trying to snatch the double play ball out of the 2B's glove? Hilarious.

How about those two diving grabs by the Dodgers' two young outfielders, Ruan and Gutierrez? Those were pretty cool.

One of the funniest things I ever heard was the guy on the Mets radio broadcast on WFAN announce the winner of some fan contest as "Al Koholic you've won..."

I miss that clip...

I'm pretty sure Gary Thorne will also be working tonight's Canucks-Avs game in Denver, so that'll be a really long day for him. I may be wrong though, since I'll be out at a local minor league game and won't get to watch the Canucks-Avs contest to see if I'm right.

Yeah, those were a couple of fantastic grabs. That's the kind of passion I like to see young players bringing to the game. Hell, James Loney did a fantastic job at first base after replacing Shawn Green. I don't think he's ready for the big time yet, but it was an encouraging performance nonetheless.

ah, the first preseason game of the year. Nothing like it, means that warm weather and sunday afternoon games are just around the corner.

On the other hand, is there a sport that has a longer more drawn out than spring training. I know the preseason is long, but they only play 4 games. On the other hand baseball players play 30-35 games during spring training, thats nuts.
