Any particular skill sets one looks for when signing a coach? Do folks solely go for the ones with great ability in the red highlights for the respective position?

Ya, thats about it. I particularly only look at coaches with a Injury Avoidance rating of good or better when making my offers.

Something to clarify:

The HC's skills with offense and defense play a factor in the development of players, more so than the respective coordinators? I've been looking strictly at Discipline and Motivation and all those other highlighted skills that a HC has, but at the same time, I find myself trying to get the best developed skills an HC has in other areas.

I would imagine an OC and DC's skills reflect more so on the players, than the HC's...

Would that be a logical assumption?

The offensive and defensive coordinators handle the development of players, not the head coach. The only ratings relevant for head coaches are motivation, discipline, offensive and defensive playcalling, and avoid injuries (i.e., the categories in red). It's a bit counterintuitive, but that's the way it works in FOF.
