HELP!!!

Something just screwed up my computer really badly, either I touched something that I shouldn't or I had a virus. I'm leaning towards the former. I scanned for a viruses and didnt have any so I must have touched something. All of a sudden when I was looking at the boards my screen started to blur, and now its all blury. If anyone knows how to make a computer screen sharper or something that would really help.

Was anybody else expecting a thread about the Beatles?

sorry Sharpie. I'd love to help a fellow Niner fan out, but I don't really have any idea what happened. Try updating your video card driver?

It is of course ironic that your problem and your handle are somewhat related.

Did you accidentally chenge the settings on the monitor? Maybe you accidentally push the little buttons on the front (if they exist on your monitor).

P.S. I didn't think this thread was about the beatles, but I did start singing the song in my head.

Sounds like a video driver, or card problem.
I have seen monitors act that way as well.

I would vote hardware. Video card.

my monitor is doing the same thing. itll go sharp for a little while, then it gets real fuzzy. If i turn it off, wait a couple seconds and then power it on again it goes away.. for a little while.

Also, to determine if its the monitor and not your video driver, unhook the monitor from the back of your PC. It should go into a test mode, probably displaying a RBG grid. If thats fuzzy, you know your monitor is screwed.

What brand/make of monitor is this?

I'll try that, I got an old ass Dell monitor(Dell E770s), I hope I don't need to buy a new one. If thats the case, I have to decide between buying a new monitor or buying my college textbooks (Damn new editions). BTW, The only reason I can actually see what I'm typing is because I have the contrast and brightness really low.

What you describe happened exactly to me on an old monitor I had. It was just the monitor dieing, sorry to say. Try hooking it up to someone else's computer, update drivers, etc, but I'm afraid your monitor is going.

If you need to buy a new one, you can get a new one from Dell through credit. And while the APR might be fairly high, at least you'll still be able to get your schoolbooks for the semester...

Circuit City has a $60 19" monitor. I think you can afford $60 (after like $140 in rebates of course)
