In 30 years...

...will we be talking about the new age of "cookie cutter" stadiums? Don't get me wrong, I love the Reds new stadium more than Riverfront. But it seems like Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, and some of the other stadiums just lack any sort of character. It seems like San Francisco and Baltimore and judging from last night San Diego are good examples of new ballparks that have some character or some defining landmark that people will recognize instantly, but like in the 60's and 70's, many of the new ballparks are just sort of there.

I'm not sure what anyone else thinks, but it just seems like more could've been done especially in Cincinnati to emphasize the city's tradition and baseball heritage instead of just having a couple of smokestacks in right-center field.

You know what they should've put in centerfield at Houston's park instead of the flagpole and a hill? A set of rotating knives about 3 feet off the ground. Talk about danger! You're not just gonna tear up your wimpy little ACL...

and maybe the Detroit Tigers could have REAL tigers patrolling the outfield.

Hey, I kind of like this idea.

I love GABP. The food is great Aren't they in the process of building new things though?

You thought San Diego's was nice? I thought it was a little blah....

Any stadium build without artificial turf is a huge improvement over the stadiums of the '60s and '70s.
