FOF: The direction I'd love to see "loyalty" go
It would be great if FOF could start having chemistry, loyalty, and perhaps some sort of "confidence" rating work in a logical way.
Here's the seed to this train of thought: Quote:
I'm sure something like this does exist in a game like Championship Manager... at least to a degree with the media interaction and such. Basically, I I think there should be some measure of
Wouldn't it be better if there was some tangible response to your signing a new player at his position? Maybe a trade demand? A major drop in loyalty and an expression of disappointment? I think if you'd previously told this player that he was a guaranteed starter (but have now replaced him), that he'd be pretty pissed off about the whole situation. I don't know exactly what I'm saying, but I think maybe FOF's realism could be upped a bit if player roles were introduced, and loyalty was properly tied into it.

Whew! At first, I was thinking you wanted to see the entire 'loyalty' rating disappear. Nice lure.

Could it be presented graphically as roses, in honor of Jesse Palmer?

Sounds somewhat like EHM's feature, where you have to give each player a role ranging from scrub to franchise. Players will demand better roles and promising them makes the player happy, although it also increases their salary demands.

Not only that, but it may/should have some impact on your ability to sign free agents the next year if implemented to it's fullest extent.
Maybe this becomes an overall rating in the game for each team - "is this a good place to work?" - with each potential free agent affected by it in some way (like play for winner, loyalty, etc.). And if you really screw a player over, perhaps if he has a very strong loyalty to another player on your team, perhaps that other player won't resign...? |

It looks like a neat feature that could replace the current Game Starts stat that produces disgruntled players.

This ties in to what I've been asking for in free agency. If promised roles were introduced ala CM, EHM and TPF, then free agents would be able to "see" their potential spot in the depth chart. They may less money to be a "guaranteed starter".

Agreed. And in this area I honestly think TCY has the edge. Players will at least view it negatively when you have other young players at their position. FOF needs to incorporate something like that. |

Cool stuff.
I'm sure its "doable". If, as it is the case right now, the player gets angry because he "sees" that he loses playing time, the same mechanics should works when he "sees/identifies" that the roster has a new QB aboard. I guess the "mechanics" should work as to have a quick glance at how many years the new QB aboard has played and most importantly, how many starts he has had in his career...and therefore immediately figure wether or not there is "danger out there" for him. Example : QB1 has been on the team for the past 4 years, and has started the last 3 seasons. then, you grab a 9-year veteran QB (QB2) that now belongs to your roster. QB1 checks QB2's stats and sees 7 starting years with 104 starts. QB1 immediately concludes that there is "danger for his position" since QB2 has an awful lot of experience. QB1 becomes upset.
