Ben Sheets throws 18Ks in Milwaukee, no one notices
Damn shame, really. Why were all those Brewers fans disguised as empty seats?
Still, quite a game. |

i noticed that and even said 'wow' to myself. Only made one bad pitch all game. Very nice effort. Doubt we'll see more like it from him though

Between today's performance and the Olympic Gold Medal, he's at least got enough to bore his future grandchildren for a while.

Ive drafted him in my fantasy league the past 3 years expecting a huge breakout, looks like this is the year.

Last week sometime, the Rockies played a doubleheader against Pittsburgh at Coors Field and there were less than 1,000 fannies in the seats. Announced "attendance" was of course 20,000+.

They were playing the Braves, so the whole country had the opportunity to at least watch it.

Ben Sheets is a stud, barring injury he's gonna be a perrenial Cy Young contender for the next 5-10 years. He's gonna be one of those guys that you'll back on after he retires and wonder how he racked up such good numbers in obscurity.

one thread you say you cry at the Freinds finale, and now you're calling Ben Sheets a stud... what is up with you?

I've always thought Sheets had the potential to be a great pitcher. I just thought he needed to get away from Milwaukee.
It's great to hear! Todd |

Saw the highlights on the local news tonight ... his offspeed stuff just looked nasty. Looked like every guy was whiffing on pitches in the dirt.
