"Server Busy" Issues.

Hey guys, hopefully someone tech savvy can help me out here.

Lately I have been having issues while online. Everything will be fine for a while, and then I try to go to a website and I get a "Server Busy" message. This message is a popup on my computer, not a message on the webpage itself. After a minute it says AOL is not responding, and I usually have to reboot because everything is so slow, it gets to the point I can't do anything but.

I know people's first inclination is going to be "AOL sucks" which of course I know, but I don't think that is the issue. I have had AOL for probably 6 years now, and this problem has only been occuring over the past 2 months or so.

Specs:
AOL 8.0
Windows XP (but this problem was also occuring on Win98)
56k modem
P4 1.4 GHz
576 MB of RAM.
