Duke vs. Wake Forest
Anyone else watching this game?
Double overtime, eight players have fouled out. What a game. |

A Duke loss is almost as good as a Carolina win! Woot!

Far and away the worst officated game I have ever seen or played in. Way back when in HS I played in some games that were really poorly officiated even for the HS level, but this game was far worse than any of those.
It's really too bad a game for first place in the ACC doesn't give you a good feel for who the best team really was. After watching the game I honestly don't know who really deserved the win. The refs just completely took the game away from the players. The ACC should be ashamed and embarassed for that one. I have to admit though, it was pretty funny tracking the announcers, "You know Brad, I just don't see it. Even on replay, I don't see the foul." I swear I heard that at least 8-10 times.

I agree and disagree, like the foul they called near the end of the game when the guy fouled Duhon. They said they didn't see a foul but you could see the guy had hit Duhon on the shoulder.
The game was physical, if your a player you have to adjust the way you are playing according to how the refs are going to call the game, I seen several other fouls they didn't call that they should have but that happens in every game. When the refs are calling everything you need to learn not to start hacking at the ball. When that one guy from Wake blocked that shot near the end of the game I think he should have been T'd up for jumping in the face of the player's shot he blocked. Anyways, I'm just glad to see Duke lose! |

In a sense, I agree with your point about adjusting to the situation (referee). On the other hand, you can't really avoid contacts in the lane and it almost looked like the referee called some fouls where they EXPECTED there to be contact, rather than on what they see*.
*This is based purely on highlight since I managed to miss the game. *sigh* |
