Because you said it doesn't allow AK-47s back out on the street.

First, those aren't fully automatic weapons. As far as your safety is concerned there is no real difference between those guns on sale today, and the ones that were legal to sell last week.

sorry, Bucc. But without looking at the gun in question, I don't know the specifics of the situation. I know that the AK-47 is still banned under the 1989 importation ban. If there's an AK-47 sitting there in a gun show window then it's either a pre-ban model which was never taken off the street, or it's an American made model that's not a part of the ban (in which case it wouldn't be an AK-47). New AK-47's are not being made available, pre-ban AK-47's were never outlawed to begin with.

I was Really wanting to make a response in this thread, however, i see it's just a pissing contest in this one.

Several people are posting supposed facts but are highly untrue, and some are downright ignorant.

Before making any statements on a public forum, why not go ahead and check out the whole issue and the facts surrounding it?

Ok one thing that bugs me is all those people and persons in this thread saying now "you'll be able to spray 30 rounds in a single trigger pull".

This is A)Complete Ignorance to the AWB in the first place or B)plain Laziness in what guns were banned.

As CamEdwards as practically screamed in this thread, Fully Automatic weapons have always been illegal for general civillian use.

It seems to me people just want to scream out the headline or statement that will get the most play/response, regardless if it had a shred of the truth or not.
