Marcy: "We're having a new addition to our family!"

Al: "Shouldn't you be at home waiting for it to hatch?"

dola. without it, we might never have had the simpsons. it saved fox and opened so many doors that shows like the simpsons took full advantage of.

I will go to my grave arguing that Married With Children, from season two to about six, was among the top ten sitcoms in TV history. If you pushed me, I could even go top five.

Partly because people who didn't watch it thought it was just trash, and partly because it really was trash over the last several season, it gets no respect. But that show changed sitcoms forever. Remember how syrupy they were before the Bundys came along? Cosby, Family Ties, etc.

No "Married With Children" = No Simpsons = No Fox Network.

I agree completely. All the characters on the show were so strong in that period, and the writing was top notch. It became watered down in later seasons but in that early stretch it was primo.

One of my most favorite sitcoms from long ago...I'm sorry to say I never did see the final episode. Still, I like the fact that the series is being released in DVD form - which prompts me to seize the $7.86 price tag, if I had $2.86 extra in my pocket.

Aren't the DVDs just like "the Best of" and not really season by season?
