The Best Pizza Ever

I'm on my break, in the middle of my nice 8 hour shift from 4 PM to 2 AM, and I think I have possibly created my favorite Pizza to date. I thought I'd share with y'all

First, the Woodstock's style of pizza: Imagine a pizza pan, with dough on top hanging about a half inch down all the way around. Spread some zesty marinara sauce on that, then flip the hanging dough up to cover up the sauce and create a sauce filled crust.

Now, after the white crust and zesty marinara sauce, I put...

Feta Cheese
Mozarella Cheese
Crushed Garlic
Salami
Chopped Red Onions
Black Olives
Pepperocinis
Sausage

and topped it all off with another drizzile of Feta and Mozzarella. It's absolutely wonderful, and the highlight of my entire day.

Take off the cheeses, onions, and olives, and that sounds pretty good.

There isa little place in Virgina called Crozet Pizza (in Crozet, Virginia). This little hole in the wall has quite a reputation. My wife and I stopped by at 6 one evening and were told that we could have a pie at 9:37. Evidently they ship pizza all over the US.

Needless to say we did not have any, but that must be some fine pie.

Beau Jeau's (I'm sure I'm misspelling it, it's pronounced Bo Jo's) pizza is the best. It's a little chain in Colorado that specializes in "Mountain Pies", these huge, thick pizzas piled high with whatver you want. They give you honey to dip the crust in for desert. Oh god, I can't wait until Spring Break to go to Colorado and have one, I must have it now...

Hey Ary/Bucc: If I send you some cash will you mail me one?

Crozet Pizza is excellent (you used to be able to catch Dave Matthews around there every once in a while .. not sure that's an indication of quality).

My personal favorite (for those in the Bay Area) is Zachary's Pizza. Chicken and artichoke hearts (trust me) - awesome stuff.

Sure hope that's not the same Domino's as we have here in the states. Their pizza sure isn't that great. Pizza Hut or Papa John's kicks Domino's arse...

Here's some of our specialty pizzas that I find rather unique:

Pesto Primavera:
Pesto Sauce (instead of Marinara)
Mozzarella
Red Onions
Artichoke Hearts
Broccoli

Garlic Bird:
White Garlic Sauce (instead of Marinara)
Mozzarella
Mushrooms
Grilled Chicken
Red Onions
Uncooked Tomoatoes

BBQ Bird:
Woody's Special mix of BBQ sauce and Marinara (it's excellent)
Mozzarella
BBQ Chicken
Red Onions
Bacon (breakfast style, cut into small pieces)
Extra Cheese

Mediterranean Masterpiece:
Feta + Mozzarella Cheese
Salami
Black Olives
Red Onions
Pepperocinis
Sun Dried Tomatoes

And for dessert try our Cinnabread (copyright Woodstock's), a cinnamon roll in the shape of a pizza, covered in Woodstock's signature frosting. Try apples or almonds on top for a real treat.

Man do I love the place I work

Actually, being born and raised in NY that's just not true. NY pizza is great, but there's nothing in the world that compares to Chicago. There's not even a close second.

I've had both as well, and while the 2 types are very diffrent, I think NY is better.

Yes, they are very different. I just love a great stuffed pizza. In fact I've studied making pizzas. I own over a dozen books on making pizza and I can't count the number of recipes with which I've messed. I make an nasty 14 pound deep dish pizza that is to die for. I have all the best pizza making equipment (well the best that will work in my standard home oven without lining the whole thing with bricks) and have a blast making it. Only this is it takes forever the way I make it so with two kids now I don't do it nearly as often as I would like. Maybe if you ever get to LA I'll make my primo stuffed pie for ya.
