Hasek, Cujo and Legace oh my!

Hasek may be back

So if this does happen, who becomes the expendable party? There's going to be a lot of teams looking to grab one of those two, but does the negative heat (imho undeserved) from last year's playoffs make Cujo the one to be moved, or do they simply take the best offer that comes their way?

This could get interesting.

I'd be happy to see Joseph shipped out of here. Having Hasek again would be great, but I think even Legace is a better goalie than Joseph. He's lump.

I would not go so far as to say Legace is better than Cujo. That's an incredible leap, and I have been a Legace fan since he was drafted by the Whalers.

I read that Cujo would waive his no-trade to go to the Rangers.

I honestly think the Wings would rather eat all that salary than ever let one of the two go to the Avalanche.

Sheesh, what would he play, waterboy? This would be quite interesting to see, cause I really doubt Detroit would want Richter or Dunham. Of course, logic doesn't mean much in NY, maybe they'll trade Bure for him.

The rumor, as ridiculous as it sounds, was that the Wings would ship CuJo to New York, for Lindros, and the Rangers would then trade Dunham elsewhere.

The big problem with this is that the Wings need to dump either Hasek's or CuJo's contract and probably don't want to take on a contract of similar size: see, Lindros, or potentially LeClair.

This has all been discussed in the "Play-off Hockey" thread, which has pretty much become THE hockey thread.

Hasek quit on the team and Cujo remained a good guy through the entire process...and was the only one left for them to depend on.

The lesson is...don't bring your nutjob goalie back just because the Ducks eliminate you in the playoffs.
