Looking into my crystal ball I see.......
The Washington Redskins release Stephen Davis. The Cowboys release Emmit Smith. ------------ The Washington Redskins sign Emmit Smith. Now that would definately be a knife in the back to most Cowboy fans out there. |

This is pretty sad. Emmitt wanted to stay, you know he had to want to stay. No matter what some Dallas dreamers may hope, Troy Hambrick is not the answer. Aside from the stunts he pulled trying to get more starting time, I just don't think he has the skills to be a good, let alone great, feature back. I think Dallas realizes this too as I hear more and more about them going after Stephen Davis. Emmitt can still swing, and should still be in a Dallas uniform.
So, now Dallas is losing the all-time leading rusher, a guy who will still be able to be productive next season, a guy with character, and a Dallas icon. As a 'Skins fan, you would think I couldn't care less. But this pisses me off as a football fan.

Woody Dantzler in the backfield, you heard it here first. McGahee will get drafted in the 2nd round by Dallas and people will throw a ruckus down here. But McGahee is hell-bent on being ready by September.
The worst day in Cowboy history with Roger's retirement a close second, maybe Aikman too. Playing what if, I wonder if Emmitt chalked up 1200-1400 yards on another team with an offensive line that had a clue what the people who say he is washed up would come up with next.

Woody doesn't have a clue as how to be a running back. He looked terrible last pre-season. Of course, I don't think that Hambrick is the answer, and I wouldn't want them to draft McGahee. Chris Brown is who I want...
