roster/editor question
Is there a method for having players released AND effecting the salary cap properly?
As an example...Rams recently released K Turley. He still had 4 years left on his deal. So a portion of the prorated signing bonus would count this year (2005 season) and the remaining 3 years bonus amount against next season's (2006) cap number. I remember in the old editor...there were boxes for current team, and team after draft (or something like that). Making Turley a free agent in the after draft box calculated carried the salary cap numbers out correctly. Is there a way to do the same with the new editor? I've tried modifying the contract years to zero, leaving the salary/bonus amounts, but that does not work. The only thing I can come up with is reducing the players to 0 overall/0% potential, so that the team is forced to cut them...but most likely, no other team would pick them up (a possibility) with ratings so low. Any thoughts? |

Other than what you last mentioned (which I don't think is very desireable) I don't think there is any other option.
