Yeah, so does TB just imagine the ending or is it for reals? Kind of threw me for a loop the way all was peaches & cream at the end. I'm thinking it was his (Brian Wilson) Imagination.

I think it is was real. My assumption was that at some level, Travis figured that killing the Senator wouldn't really solve anything, since the punks and pimps would still be out on the streets, corrupting more girls like Iris. So he decided to do his part to get rid of some of the scum, and at least save one girl.

At least that was how I interpreted the ending.
