The Daytona 400!!!!!

I just realized that The Daytona 400 is tomorrow! Oh Happy day. I thought it was next week. I hope it's not the usual follow the leader type racing tha's been the norm on Restrictor plate tracks the past 2 years. I hope the race is like the 2001 race where there was alot of bumping and passing.

With the reduced fuel tanks and the smaller spoilers the race will include a number of wrecks, not because the cars get unstable, but because asshats like Johnson, harvick, nemecheck and a few others don't seem to understand the "give" part of the "give and take" that has to go on to succeed in these events.

It really irritated me when the fuel tank was reduced a couple of years ago. It really made Daytona and Talladega into a cookie cutter type race where pit stops strategy ecame a factor. They should have left it alone and have them race sid by side at the superspeedways.

Unfortunately, this week marks the first race of the year on NBC, which is always a downgrade in the coverage.

It's building up to be an exciting finish. The race has been red flagged right now with I think 11-12 laps left. NBC's coverage has been pretty good so far.

Chalk up another good night for the old guys -- Jarrett & Rusty both in the top 10, and big atta-boys to Mike Wallace & Ken Schrader too.

Darrel Waltrip is the john madden of NASCAR commentary. I love DW, but he's gotta shut the *^^$%^ up once in a while. and If I here Boogity boogity boogity again I think I'll scream.

Fox compeltely ruined NASCAR broadcasting.

ABC needs to pony up the money to get the series back and let ESPN handle it properly.
