If any late nighters want to watch some poker...

I'm alive in an $11 Rebuy tournament on Poker Stars (#9608467). It's at the second break and I'm #14 with 16k out of 81 with 27 spaces paying. Average stack is 11000 which leads me to believe a whole bunch of people will be dropping soon with the blinds at 800/1600. This is my first real chance at finishing in the money in a larger tournament, besides 1 money finish in a $1 tournament that won me something like 1.32. Anyhow I'm excited about the whole thing, especially because I generally suck at limit and would have never entered the tournament in the first place had I realized it was limit.

Just got moved to table 13 and am up to 24k in chips after an AJH comes through with a pair of aces winning it for me. Am currently in 5th place, which I'm hoping will allow me to come close to coasting to the money.

Limit poker.. Interesting. You have about 10 BigBets left, a bit worrying here. Gotta get a good hand and push to the moon.

Just lost a monster hand. Had AJh. Gets max raised (I know there's a real term for that but like i said I don't play limit so I don't know what that's called) with 4 players. Long story short my pair of Aces loses to trip queens. Knocked me down to 11K in what was a 20K hand.

it is interesting, i've never really played limit so it's really different watching the style of play

either that or it's the beer...

People had been folding, and thought I could push him out. I was right in reading that he didn't have anything. It's just that his nothing flopped a pair of sixes.

BTW, it's called "Capping" or "Caps"

The guy with QQ was basically pushing everything he could in, just ran into it there

And a second nice small pot gives me a LITTLE breathing room thankfully. It's interesting that PS doesn't do antes with limit which further increases my breathing room.

I just got real lucky. Played agressively with QJh and ended up winning with Q high. On the river the second heart came and I reraised a guy who called with Q10c. Pushes me back up to 20K and 19th place.

at least the button's halfway across the table when the blinds up. Means your below 10 BB, but big pot showdowns here usually mean someone's going home.

Ouch. Here come the blinds. Stallplay a bit? Or is it too obvious at this point?

I think I just made a misplay. Had 56o and is folded around to SB who raises it. I'm thinking maybe I should have called there.

Stallplay means: Take some time on every decision. Not necessarily use ALL the time you're allowed.. it's used by folks who want to coast into the money.. (obviously, they play fewer hands since it takes more time per hand, which is a double edged sword)

Nice, pot gives you almost a free roll for the next round of blinds (2/4K)

(whoops, blinds are 1/2K, Bets are 2-4K

Yeah he got lucky at a good time. I keep waiting for people to start to really drop, but it seems like it's going to be a stready trickle. I've managed to steal a couple of hands so I'm feeling ok for the short term, but sure would like some people to start losing.

Just got moved to Table 20... which is too bad because I had a fairly good read on most of the players at the table. I also just got put into the BB and called a reraise with Q10s ... Flop comes AQJd and I fold.

They sure do. It's about time for me to pick up a hand. I've had several hands where I was ready to raise but then someone raised ahead of me and it wasn't good enough to cold call. I have time to be a little patient, I think, but picking up a couple of blinds would be helpful as we exit the third break and have 3000/6000 blinds.

Interesting thing is if Barkeep can survive.. 5 more eliminations, he nearly doubles his payout. Bigger money is final table tho

I'm torn on the play to win/wait for the next jump. Considering that losing now nets me $3 and change (for the buy-in, rebuy, and addon) it seems like a waste to end up in the bottom money bracket.

at least you're still in and have a full round before blinds, but 10K, you're going to have multi callers probably

Go all-in on K9H and am up against KQs and luck does not help me and I lose. Thanks to Fozzie and Sweeny for coming out and railbirding. Finishing in the money was fun, I just wish it'd have been a little more.
