Dumb poker question - rankings?

Just wondering, figure somebody here will definitely know.

Is there any attempt out there to compile some sort of professional poker rankings? Like a Top 25 or Top 50 or whatever?

Yes, I know, it'd be an incredibly subjective task & one that's made even harder by the number of poker variants there are ... but still, I'm curious.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but there is a WSOP player of the year that is calculated based only on the month long world series events at the Rio:

The WPT tracks players based on the amount of money they've won, but only on the WPT itself(I can't find a link right now, I don't know if there is anything on their site, but I've seen it mentioned during the broadcasts numerous times)

I'm curious if there are other "rankings" out there, I am not aware of them if they are.

I've got a really crazed idea that I'd love to goof with a bit if I can find some info/data like this (and a few poker nuts to help me interpret it all when the time comes).

The explanation for how those rankings are compiled are available if you click the "about" buttom in the toolbar above the rankings. They are also based on the last 12 months, similar to tennis's entry rank system, rather than just 2005 like Cardplayer's are.
