OOTP 6 - Seibu Lions - Fictional
Seibu Lions name Manager!
12/15/2008 The Seibu Lions have announced the hiring of Balldog as their new manager, Balldog will try to revive a one time power in the Japan Baseball League. The Seibu Lions have won four championships, but have not one since 1966. The 28 year old Balldog is a recent college grad and has no professional baseball coaching experience, "this is a very controversial hiring" according to most of the fans. Reportedly the team and Balldog have agreed to a 1 year deal worth $400,000. Ownership is rather impatient and expects the Lions to play better than .500 ball this season. |

Pitching Staff - Thoughts
Our rotation isn't bad, not great but not bad. Our bullpen looks to be one of the best in the league, so if the starters can keep us in the game through 6 innings we should be able to shut people down with our bullpen. Shun'En was named Outstand Pitcher in 2002, and has been selected to the All-Star Game the last two seasons. If we can get to Nobuo in the 9th with the lead the game is over! |

Position Players - Catchers
Neviru Ienobu 32 years old Neviru Ienobu will contribute a lot to the team. He's got a great stroke, some nice pop in his bat and is a lot of fun and well-liked in the clubhouse. Neviru doesn't hit much for average, but with lots of hard work in the cage, he could improve significantly. Neviru has explosive power. Look for him to go deep often. Has a great eye and uncanny patience at the plate. 100 walks in a season are no problem for this guy, and most pitchers consider it a moral victory to strike him out. Neviru won't fan too much, but still occasionally goes after bad pitches. He is very slow on the basepaths, so it is strictly station-to-station when he gets on. Neviru has an average arm, and will throw out just enough people to cause baserunners to think a little more. 2007 Stats: 75 for 374, .201 AVG, 23 2B, 15 HR, 51 RBI, 74 BB, 117 SO Chuugorou Hisashi 36 years old Chuugorou Hisahsi will contribute a lot to the team. He's got a great stroke, some nice pop in his bat and is a lot of fun and well-liked in the clubhouse. Chuugorou has decent batting skills, and will get his share of base hits. Although he's more of a contact hitter, he does have some pop, and will go yard occasionally. He has a pretty good eye at the plate. He will draw his share of free passes, but won't hesitate to go after his pitch. Chuugorou does a decent job protecting the plate, and will make contact when you need him to. He is very slow on the basepaths, so it is strictly station-to-station when he gets on. Chuugorou has a good arm, and will throw out a lot of base runners. His arm commands respect, and baserunners are much more cautious. 2007 Stats: 17 for 55, .309 AVG, 3 2B, 1 HR, 10 RBI, 8 BB, 14 SO Takashirou Unkei 26 years old Takashirou Unkei will contribute a lot to the team. He's got a great stroke, some nice pop in his bat and is a lot of fun and well-liked in the clubhouse. Takashirou has decent batting skills, and will get his share of base hits. Although he's more of a contact hitter, he does have some pop, and will go yard occasionally. He often swings at bad pitches and struggles to go deep in the count. He needs to improve his plate awareness to get the most out of his abilities. Takashirou won't fan too much, but still occasionally goes after bad pitches. Righties give him more trouble than lefties. He is one of the slower runners, and is no threat to run. Takashirou has an average arm, and will throw out just enough people to cause baserunners to think a little more. 2007 Stats: 7 for 22, .318 AVG, 1 2B, 5 RBI, 1 BB, 3 SO All three guys are going to get quite a bit of playing time, with Unkei starting vs. LHP and Ienobu starting vs. RHP. Hisashi is kind of the odd man out but will see a lot of playing time later in games because he has a lot better arm than the other two. Last edited by Balldog : 07-11-2005 at 10:19 PM. |

Position Players - Infield
Tsugitarou Isoruko, 1B 27 years old Tsugitarou Isoruko will contribute a lot to the team. He's got a great stroke, some nice pop in his bat and is a lot of fun and well-liked in the clubhouse. Tsugitarou has decent batting skills, and will get his share of base hits. Tsugitarou has explosive power. Look for him to go deep often. He has a pretty good eye at the plate. He will draw his share of free passes, but won't hesitate to go after his pitch. Tsugitarou won't fan too much, but still occasionally goes after bad pitches. Lefties seem to give him more trouble than righties. He has average speed at best, but has excellent timing, and can steal a few bases. Tsugitarou is an average first baseman defensively. He has decent range and will make most routine plays, but certainly will not dazzle you with his glove. 2007 stats: 109 for 444, .245 AVG, 20 2B, 14 HR, 58 RBI, 33 BB, 110 SO Suejirou Juro, 2B 34 years old Suejirou Juro is a real gamer. He will do everything asked of him, and more, for his team and his manager. Suejirou has above average hand-eye coordination. He makes frequent contact. He's one of the game's premiere sluggers, no doubt. His home run trot is a sight opposing pitchers will see often. He often swings at bad pitches and struggles to go deep in the count. He needs to improve his plate awareness to get the most out of his abilities. Suejirou does a decent job protecting the plate, and will make contact when you need him to. Not fast at all, but given the right game situation and matchup, will swipe a base when no one's paying attention to him. Suejirou is an average second baseman defensively. He has decent range and will make most routine plays, but certainly will not dazzle you with his glove. 2007 stats: 143 for 517, .277 AVG, 19 2B, 16 HR, 83 RBI, 29 BB, 119 SO Vibeku Seiryo, 3B 32 years old Vibeku Seiryo will be one of the better players on most teams. He can do a lot at the plate, and will definitely contribute. Vibeku has above average hand-eye coordination. He makes frequent contact. Vibeku has explosive power. Look for him to go deep often. He really works opposing pitchers deep into the count, and will likely be a league leader in walks drawn. Vibeku does a decent job protecting the plate, and will make contact when you need him to. Lefties seem to give him more trouble than righties. Not fast at all, but given the right game situation and matchup, will swipe a base when no one's paying attention to him. Vibeku is an average third baseman defensively. He has decent range and will make most routine plays, but certainly will not dazzle you with his glove. 2007 stats: 148 for 567, .261 AVG, 30 2B, 17 HR, 79 RBI, 43 BB, 72 SO Takusaburou Gonnohyoe, SS 27 years old With Takusaburou Gonnohyoe you'll have a quality player in the lineup. He is capable of hitting any pitcher with authority! Takusaburou has above average hand-eye coordination. He makes frequent contact. He has pretty good pop in his bat, and will post solid HR figures each season. He has a pretty good eye at the plate. He will draw his share of free passes, but won't hesitate to go after his pitch. Takusaburou is tough to fan. He get's the bat on the ball most of the time. While he is not a real threat to steal, he runs the bases smart and won't clog up the basepaths. Takusaburou is a very good shortstop defensively. He seems to know where the ball is going before it leaves the bat, makes fantastic reads and takes good routes to the ball. 2007 stats: 178 for 540, .330 AVG, 33 2B, 7 3B, 13 HR, 47 RBI, 51 BB, 32 SO Takao Tabito, SS 31 years old Takao Tabito is an average ballplayer. He can hit, but will struggle against the league's top pitchers. Takao has decent batting skills, and will get his share of base hits. He is really no threat to go deep, zero power with this guy. He often swings at bad pitches and struggles to go deep in the count. He needs to improve his plate awareness to get the most out of his abilities. Takao does a decent job protecting the plate, and will make contact when you need him to. He is very speedy on the basepaths, but doesn't have those natural instincts for stealing bases that all the great ones have. Takao is a very good shortstop defensively. He seems to know where the ball is going before it leaves the bat, makes fantastic reads and takes good routes to the ball. 2007 stats: 9 for 39, .231 AVG, 3 2B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 5 SO Ryuujirou Toyoaki, SS 26 years old Ryuujirou Toyoaki has all the basic skills. He isn't destined for stardom, but is the kind of solid, workman-type player that every club needs. Ryuujirou has above average hand-eye coordination. He makes frequent contact. He has pretty good pop in his bat, and will post solid HR figures each season. He often swings at bad pitches and struggles to go deep in the count. He needs to improve his plate awareness to get the most out of his abilities. Ryuujirou won't fan too much, but still occasionally goes after bad pitches. Righties give him more trouble than lefties. He's only got average speed, but his ability to read pitcher's moves is uncanny. Ryuujirou is an average shortstop defensively. He has decent range and will make most routine plays, but certainly will not dazzle you with his glove. 2007 stats: 20 for 90, .222 AVG, 8 2B, 1 HR, 9 RBI, 8 BB, 19 SO Thoughts Gonnohyoe is probably the best shorstop in the league, he is probably going to end up hitting in the #3 spot. Hopefully he can get a chance to drive in a lot of runs. Juro is very good as well, the fact that he only had 16 HRs last year is surprising, he has big HR ability. |
