Well, so much for home ice advantage.
8 games.
7 road team wins. 7 home-ice advantages out the window.

I thought everyone already knew that home-ice was useless.

So, once you have won a handful of games in the NHL regular season... what exactly are you playing for? If there are no byes, and there's no real home-ice advantage (pretty clearly true), then who gives a shit whether you win 70% or 50% of your games?
I guess that's why there's a thread here calling this "the most wonderful time of the year..." - after months and months of meaningless hockey, now they actually start playing for something. |

I agree that most everybody making the playoffs makes the regular season almost worthless in Hockey and, to a slightly lesser extent, the NBA. But, that being said, them damned Rangers still haven't made the playoffs for six years. I'm starting to hate the management at the Garden. |

Don't you think people are getting a little too anxious after just one game??? I'd much rather have home ice in a potential game 7 than play on the road.
