Smile Futility Bowl: The Worst Franchise in Sports Tourney, Rd. 1

Only one team can be the most futile franchise in the Big 4 professional sports in America.

Whoa.. What happened to the D-Rays? I'm sure they would be disappointed to hear they are not "futile" enough..

Baseball was a quagmire of teams with one vote each. There were the Cubs, with 4 nominations, and then everyone else had just one vote. I had to make a judgment call.

How come Hartford/Carolina is in there but not Winnipeg/Phoenix? At least Carolina made the finals one year, the Jets have never left the 2nd round, and they've only even been there a couple times. Same could be said for the Kings, they've made the finals too.

I am not a fan of Carolina or anything, but shouldn't the fact that they made the finals last year keep them off of this list?

Only 2 hockey teams were even nominated. I don't follow hockey or baseball AT ALL, so I had to go with the teams that were nominated. Remember, if you don't vote, you can't complain about the results!

Here is the nomination thread.

DOLA AMIGOS!!

I've got to go with the New Orleans Saints from the list of teams Kodos have given us.. I mean even the Bengals made a couple of Super Bowls, and came within a whisp of winning them both might I add.. What have the Saints really done in their Franchises History?

The Logical #2 Choice for me would be the L.A./S.D. Clippers/whatever they were before then, someone please refresh my memory..

I think we might have a hockey team here in Winnipeg, called The Manitoba Moose or something, but their only fan is Dancing Gabe and he gets sponsored to attend.

Of this list, my vote for the LEAST deserving team had to go to the J-E-T-S. Jets.

They won a championship within the last 40 years. I don't believe any of the others have.

Yeah, Jets have gotta go first.

How come so many people voted for Boston? Everyone in the world knows the story of the curse of the bambino...they deserve to be in the final four just because of Bill Buckner.
