Ok, I've broke down(Hattrick Question)

Well, I had hoped to just do my own thing, and really focus on keeping a lot of cash around and hopefully do decent in my league. That now seems impossible. I've so far been outscored 11-0 in league matches, and it's beginning to have an effect on me.

What I'm hoping for is some of the vets to look through my team and tell me what fat I should trim, and what I should really focus on in the transfer market, and maybe training. I think at the rate I'm going, I'll be lucky to draw a league game this season. I think I have right at about 200k to play with, so I can rake in a few decent guys I think.

I've only brought in two transfers so far, Jonsson at Central Defender, and Quigley for a Winger/Inner Mid.

The first thing that sticks out at me is that you need a passable keeper. It makes a big difference. That will run close to $100K though.

I have a formula which was given to me which will allow you to break your team down into each individual position by simply putting information in on the first page. It's an excel file so I cannot post it on here but if you're interested, send me a private message and I'll get it to you.

I should add by this formula, you will see who your strong players are at each position and discover where you may have an abundance of talent and where you need help. If it shows you that you have 3 strong forwards (inadaquate or better overall) you MIGHT want to put the highest price one or the oldest on the market to get yourself $$$. I had a friend of mine get a million dollars on a solid forward a week or so ago.

From what I've been reading on these boards, you need AT LEAST a passable coach (if not solid) with solid to outstanding experience who's even tempered and honest to get your team to respond to training. Finding this coach alone could cost you in the neighborhood of between $120 - $300k

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think experience matters with a coach.

What does matter is having a good temperment so he doesnt drag spirit down too much. And also, most people prefer coaches who go all out since they won't pull back early.

I'd love to give your team a look-see, Calis, but with a big test today, it's going to have to wait until late tonight.

Going all out doesn't stop a coach from drawing back early.

My all out coach seems to draw back a lot later than others defensive coaches. I've had one recent exception, but typically I have to get up 5-0 or 6-0 before he pulls back.

Heh, I agree with that..I think my coach will be staying, I'm just more worried about what players I need to focus on. I'm thinking my Inner mids are by far the weakest spot on my team. I'm really wanting to keep clear of any debt though, but I want to be as good as I can without that.

Coaches experience only matters if he plays. And my poor coach rules. So what that it takes a little longer for a player to pop.
