OT: Xbox Live with multiple profile/gametags
OK experts, I have an Xbox 360 with Xbox Live Gold. I have two children that want there own profiles and gametags. I can't for the life of me see how to make this happen. I registered Live under my own tag and can't seem to link or create another profile without pulling out the credit card. Is this even possible.

No, it's not possible. The idea is that you get one gamertag per account and that's it. It's so people can't hide behind other names when they're doing their cheesing or cheating or abuse. You're not going to be able to put multiple names under one paid account.

Yeah, while you can change the gamertag now, you can't have multiple gamertags on the same account. Look on the bright side, however - Xbox 360 makes it MUCH easier to control your children's access to Xbox Live. You can set up independent profiles for them and give them each their own Xbox Live account, and restrict their access however you see fit. If they don't have the password to the master profile, they can't change the settings - which include not just Xbox Live access, but the content sliders for game and movie ratings. |
