Have you tried changing the light levels and/or light sources in the room where you're playing? I ask mostly because even with my glasses I can't really deal with playing in a brightly lit room, my eyes just don't handle that very well & it often sucks to play when you're having trouble seeing important stuff. On the other hand, my son is the opposite, I think he'd light this place up like an airport runway if he could. That makes me figure it's one of those YMMV things & might not have any impact on your experience at all but I figured it was at least worth throwing out there.

Yea, done both light and dark. Really don't know, been a gamer since the NES and never had anything like this. The last couple of days I plowed through Heavy Rain with no eye strain issues. Today I put RDR back in and was like, "GAH! My eyes!"

I am soooooo into this game now. I have played it a metric crap ton and I'm not even in Mexico yet. I love the challenges more than in any other game. The realism is pretty incredible, too; I beat the shooting the birds from a moving train by firing into upcoming trees to scatter the birds! Loving it.

This is why I automatically mute everyone in multiplayer. I don't want to hear teenagers dropping the N bomb.

If you double tap them with a shotgun, they're toast. I try to listen up, and if i'm in a cougar area(the boars place is LOADED) i at least try to only de-horse in the middle of a field.

How'd you kill them melee? Just wait for them to attack the horse and swipe away?

You can block with the knife equipped.

I used Bait, that seems to distract them. The first time I used Bait only 1 was around. I crouched and walked up behind him and started slashing furiously. That was actually a mini-quest as I found a guy on the side of the road who wanted me to get a cougar skin for him and supplied the bait. Since that worked so well, I used the bait in another area (down near Rio Brava) that drew 3 of them. I snuck up on 1 and slashed him and then quickly switched to the shotgun to get his 2 partners before they could kill me.

He is in the vicinty, he must go to the spot marked by x on the treasure map to trigger the cutscene.

Nope. Just walk to the spot on the treasure map marked by x. The first map was kinda tricky, but I he's found the tree, the spot should be very close by.

Look at the map again, maybe ride back away from the rock some distance so you can get the same sort of perspective as the map. The thing to look for isn't the tree so as much getting into the little groove in the rock where the treasure is hidden.

If I remember correctly, it is close to the tree. It's also near a boulder. Approach it from the north and there should be a path that you can see that will lead to the treasure. It looks kind of like a circle of rocks IIRC once you get to the spot (that is what all of the other treasures look like as well.)

Dude, this is like one of the easiest games I've ever played. Just remember to crouch a lot, and use health packs when you need to. It auto aims for you, just be patient.

Had a blast last night. Was letting a couple of the poker guys try out the game (funny to see the difference between the on who has a 360 and the other who hasn't played games like this and was completely lost).

They played for a bit and got stuck on one mission. They asked me to try it so I whipped through the mission. Then figured I would have a little fun with the character (it was a throw-away game for a "guest" account) and started blowing away anything that I came upon. It was a blast that led to a glorious shootout with the law in the middle of Armadillo as I eventually went down in a hail of bullets (but took quite a few with me).

take a look at the map. Make sure you approach the tree the way it looks like in the first picture on map. If you take a look at the 2nd picture, the tree is shown backwards. So go around the rock formation where the tree is until the tree is oriented similarly to the 2nd picture. You should be able to find the small groove on the boulder as shown by x on the second picture.

this I am unsure of, I've kept them so far. I've heard rumors that if you keep them you can do something with them towards the end, but I've also heard otherwise and they are just for money. who knows

The second I looked at the first treasure map I went straight to google for spoilers. This struck me as similar to the hidden packages in GTA games, a little improved(fewer of them and hints as to where they are) but that's just one of those things I'm not willing to spend my time figuring out, so I'll either just ignore them or use spoilers/youtube vids to find them.

Mike1409 and I just had a fun MP session clearing a few hideouts. It was good until we ran into a high level posse (level 26 for their leader) who just kept slaughtering us over and over. Made it to level 5 in my first session ever of MP for this game. Speaking of which, did I have to do anything special to save that experience before exiting the session (a bit late to be asking now, but what the heck.)

Edit to add: Very nice that the game transitioned right to my last SP save spot so smoothly once the MP session was over.

Does you people enjoy any of the other MP? Grab the bag was good the first time I played it as one side vs another. But I don't enjoy the individual grab the bag or the either shootouts on MP. Most the grab the bags haven't been very good but I've enjoy a few. And I join a group and then the game changes after were done. Bitch bitch bitch. I was hoping for a MP like COD 2 capture the bag. Maybe I shouldn't complain after just one session and not really trying to figure things out on my own. Just wanted to see other peoples opinions of the MP and the which ones they enjoyed.

Some thoughts on playing the game after the main story

At first, I really didn't linke playing as Jack Marston. I spent so much time playing as John, I felt really awkward playing as his son. But, after a while, I'm used to it. I also get to be as much of a badass/villain I want to be without John's "redemption" storyline nagging me. Oh, and I filled that sonofabitch, Edgar Ross, with lead. Asshole.

Yes that was fun until we met up with those guys. They were killing us from some distance! Sorry I shot you that one time, it was such a gang of people I was just firing on site!

I did kill one of them to get the Rockstar Achievement.
