So, should we come out and tell everyone that we DIDN'T give our idols away. I was going to make a post saying that and telling everyone that Blade was lying, but I wanted to check with you guys first.

Okay. I just didn't want people to think that we're blaming it on him just because he's voted out (if he is...).

And momentum swings quickly on Survivor. The quick turn of events at the end of yesterday left this tribe in a bad spot today. Blade, it appears that you lost the trust of your tribe over the course of the day. I'm sure it is frustrating having to leave under these circumstances, but at least you will not be devoured by the so-called "werewolves" that are rumored to exist.

Lupus - I know that you have played to win from the outset of this game. But with shrinking numbers you are definitely going to have your work cut out to survive in the coming days. I hope that we do not have another fireside chat anytime terribly soon.

Paraphrasing here, but my interpretation was that if I could get you all to acknowledge what my punishment was before any of the others realized it, I would get a nondescript idol at the end of the day.

Which, I guess could have been good or bad, but considering that it was tribal council day, I wanted pretty badly and hoped could help us avoid a lynch.

Guys, any thoughts here?

I have a wikipedia account and am willing to do whichever. I think we should take FBCB or text sims. We have until Sunday, so I can definitely do some work on this one in the next couple of days.

Okay folks, here si teh current text that we have for Text Sims:

A text sim is short for text simulation and is the common term for a type of computer game. These computer games attempt to simulate some aspect of the real world using text and numbers rather than graphics.

A common type of text sim is the sports text sim. Games in this genre include Championship Manager/Football Manager, NHL Eastside Hockey Manager, JumpShot Basketball, Out of the Park Baseball and Front Office Football.

The text sim (which stands for text simulation) is a type of electronic game that focuses on using a text based element to simulate some aspect of the real world. Text sims typically focus on creating as detailed a simulation of their object as possible, and therefore, other traditional game elements are often set aside in pursuit of creating an accurate simulation experience for the user. This pursuit of accurate simulation often comes at the expense of some or most audio or graphical elements. Numerous examples of soundless and graphic-light text sims exist.

The best selling text sim of all time is the Champioship Manager/Football Manager series, published by Sports Interactive games, sold in America as Worldwide Soccer Manager. This soccer text simulation is an advanced version of a text sim with a 2D graphical sim engine for soccer games.

There are several genres of text sims. The most popular may be the sports text sim. In addition to the above mentioned Football Manager, there are several text-based sim games in baseball, football, basketball, hockey, even wrestling. This genre is typically heavy is stats, and some games have been compared to spreadsheets with all of their detail to simulating the true environment of the sport. One of the flagship products of the sports text sim is Front Office Football, which is renowned for creating a very accurate experience as a general manager of a professional football team while also retaining a heavy statistical engine.

Another genre of text sims is the tycoon genre. Although early entrants in the tycoon genre were graphically based, such as Railroad Tycoon and later Roller Coaster Tycoon, a large number of tycoon clones arose. The tycoon genre focuses on a economic simulation of one or more commercial elements. Many recent budget tycoon games have more in common with text sims than the original games, often retaining graphics merely as an interface to appeal to the general audience. Examples of these games include Coffee Tycoon, where a player runs a coffee shop franchise; Hollywood Mogul, where the player creates and runs a movie studio; and Starship Tycoon where the player manages a merchant spaceship plying the trade routes in the future.

A third text sim genre is the political similulation. Political enterprises such as elections lend themselves well to the statistics-oreinted text sim gaming. These text sims often focus on elections, although a few chose instead to focus on the running on a country. Due to the nature of this genre, it often relies on a graphical interface, typically a map. However, the game information is delivered in a text-based format. Examples of this genre include The Political Machine and Power Politics, where the player tries to win an election for the American Presidency.

Yet another text sim genre is the real world simulation. These text sims try to manage a real world situation of some sort in a text based engine. Often this genre will try to use statistics to figure out some element of life. A recent example of this genre is Kudos, where a player simulates the life of a young person in their early twenties trying to decide what to do with life.

The genre is widening every year, as more and more developers release games, often about new areas. Although the typical statistics that text sims seem to favor might initially indicate certain endeavors as successes, game developers appear to be reaching out beyond these boundaries.

Looks like we have a 50/50 shot of winning this.

I think ours had a much greater improvement and better content, but theirs is a little more attractive to look at.

Either way, nice to not be heading back to tribal council for awhile longer.

Will you guys be around after 8:00 PM EST or so? If so, we could put something together then.

I don't think others can read our thread today, but is that your understanding, too? If they can, I don't want to discuss answers until just before the deadline.

I don't think anyone can read our thread, so it should be safe to talk.

Here's the post:

C'mon in everyone. You'll notice that ntn was voted off last night.

Today's challenge is a simple reward challenge. In Werewolf you must learn to think like others. Knowing how to predict people's actions and thoughts gives you a large advantage, especially as a wolf. And so for this challenge we'll be playing a game of "Family Feud".

I surveyed people about various questions. Who I surveyed is a little different for each question and is noted. I multiplied the actual answers so each question had a possible 100 points (so if I surveyed 20 people, and you guess an answer which got 2 responses, you'll get 10 points). At least two people had to list an answer in order for it to appear on the board.

Questions were:

30 library patrons in the Youth Services section of a library were asked: Which is the best Harry Potter book? (6 answers)

40 fourth graders were asked: What is your favorite food? (5 answers)

20 teachers were asked: Which movie will win best picture? (5 answers)

20 poker players were asked: Who is the best poker player? (4 answers)

30 adults (combination of library patrons and teachers) were asked: What time do you get up in the morning (to the nearest half hour)? (6 answers)

The winning tribe will receive the ability to stay strong for a couple of the tribulations which await you. Survivors ready? Go!

Some random thoughts:

30 library patrons in the Youth Services section of a library were asked: Which is the best Harry Potter book? (6 answers)

I'm thinking it will be the 1st or last book (or possibly Goblet of Fire, since that was the most recent movie released).

I'd personally say the best was the last: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. But I'm afraid that people may not remember the name of it and just answer something easier like the first one - HArry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

40 fourth graders were asked: What is your favorite food? (5 answers)

Pizza?

20 teachers were asked: Which movie will win best picture? (5 answers)

The Departed?

20 poker players were asked: Who is the best poker player? (4 answers)

Phil Helmuth (even though people hate him, his name jumps to mind immediately) or Scotty Nguyen, or Daniel Negreanu (his name isn't easy to remember though...)

30 adults (combination of library patrons and teachers) were asked: What time do you get up in the morning (to the nearest half hour)? (6 answers)

I would say 6am (or maybe 6:30).
