It's time for a good night, because tomorrow, you need to head back to the estate and get another look while some stay back and try to work on your book.

Night falls on another day and you begin to make plans for the morrow. About an hour past nightfall, you are safely encamped in your rooms, or at one of the two inns in the town. The final train of the night has left and the night looks long, with gambling and whoring moving into the center of the town stage as the sun leaves. The night erases humanity’s shame and guilt.

Two more hours have passed and one of you, closest to the river, makes out an odd noise. Then a few seconds later, several sounds like cracking bones are heard and a woman cries out. Shots ring out from the night as an odd mixture of voices rises from the shores by the river.

You make your way to the shore and as you do you encounter a large group of people that look oddly disformed. Almost slimy. They move towards you with an odd gait and are attacking people. Other townsfolk have arrived to fight.

Battle is enjoined


The soldiers line up in front with their weapons ready. Guns fire into the crowded group of enemies. They press in and attack in force. Everyone is involved in combat.

After one round, JAG has taken 3 damage from a powerful swipe by an enemy. Two have fallen and more have taken their place.

The next round sees four more fall and Crimson Fox takes 5 damage. Almost dead, he pulls out of the confrontation. As he does, he allows an attack of opportunity by the attacker but it misses.

They win init in the 3rd round and mostly miss. They hit a few local townsfolk but none of yours. You smash three more dead from fists or bullets. The soldiers are cleaning up these guys but the rest of you are battered. Simbo Klice takes a scratch of 1 damage and Danny similarly takes little damage of 2.

You win init and beat more. The creatures are falling back and now the foul stench of fish assails your nostrils as those that are dead are turning fetid. You slay one and damage a few more. They beat a retreat back to the waters and disappear into the night.

You gather your wounded. The town has been damaged in several places, and there are many wounded and dead.





Wounded:

JAG – 3 Damage
CF - 5 damage
Simbo – 1 damage
Danny - 2 damage



Due to the attack by these men and seeing them up close, you all lose one Sanity Point.









Night Two has ended. Day Three has begun. Day Three Quest Action is Monday, at 1 pm EST

Dawn breaks, and the town is in chaos. There are fences broken, houses damaged, and people that need tended to, whether alive or dead.


For today's quest, you must Help the Town of Thurmond. These tasks are all required to pass it:


Bury the Dead: 3
Carpentry: 5
Labor: 5
Healing: 6


For this task, healing costs as double for Doctors.

To pass the quest, we need everyone to submit an action. 3 docs on healing and the other 13 (minus Autumn) on other tasks. I think it's safe to say our sherrff has been converted (unless someone wants to give a good reason for putting Autumn in jail), so we're dealing with at least one Cultist for sure.

i would have to say no one being dead is a good thing, since by the way that write up seems to work, we could lose multiple people in one night if the rolls dont work out for us.

I was wondering about that. I was also wondering if cultists could go crazy or take damage? Maybe getting wounded by these things can turn us into cultists (like a zombie effect)? In which case the four of us are prime suspects.

I'm not so quick to say it must have been a corrupted sherriff, but I can't really understand any other reason for it. At least now we have a sense of what night attacks might look like. We'll want to stay at high health if we can.
