If Fouts would come out and say how certain he was of his information that Hoops was trying to kill him, I'd be tempted to take my vote off of him.

hoops, you still havent given me any explanation of why Fouts would make this up....is it just to kill you? like i said before, that seems like a pretty ballsy move to make this early in the game

as far as the gruul go, they are a guild within this portion of the multiverse, and they are very violent and love to inflict pain and damage...i am not real sure what use they would have for manipulating a religious figure, as they would much rather just kill him.

This voting pattern is getting a little shady to me.

I don't mind seeing if it is Fouts lying rather than hoopsguy, but if we do euthanize Fouts and he ends up innocent, these late breaking voters are going to look pretty suspicious.

Saldana, in terms of Fouts - I had made it pretty clear that there was a 3rd person involved in my dispute with Swaggs and that I suspected that person more than Swaggs. From the time that I was silenced until the time that Fouts posted (2-3 hours) I had not picked up any votes. I think they were desperate - a 1:1 trade is better for them than a 1:0 trade.

As far as the Gruul, if you think I'm concocting stories about a 3rd guild in a universe I don't know - all the while expressing concern about becoming a liability later in the game - then you should keep your vote on me. You have a better sense for them than I do, as I have about 25 words in a PM as the basis for my thoughts on these guys.

Barkeep, if you guys kill Fouts and he is a good guy, then I expect to go down unanimously tomorrow. This is pretty much a zero-sum game for me.

I'll pretend to be a bad guy to make it more interesting if you would like to do that

What happens with a tie?

It appears that there are probably going to be two more votes placed in the next few minutes, with Alan's pretty well known and CR's very much a mystery.

Only in which cards you draw. There are a few "flip a coin cards" but they are the exception and nto the rule. I don't claim to be an expert in Magic, but I do have some cards from the first and second sets printed.

Dude, c'mon. Are you saying if I don't vote the way you do now then I'm suspicious if I'm wrong? I think there are valid arguments to make either way.

Not at all.

But consider that we will have two close votes to look at and a lot of late breaking votes towards hoops could appear as a calculated risk by a group that is communication with one another. I don't see how we can ignore that.

Fuck it. Fouts isn't here, and although I'm not sure I buy hoops' story, if he's good he's too valuable to lose. And if Fouts is good, then I know where to head tomorrow.

Vote Fouts

I waited as long as I could to have something sway my vote. I think this last minute run to fouts makes me uneasy as anything. I'll go with where my guts have been all day long.

Late breaking votes are, I feel, no more or less likely to eb good or bad at this point. We've seen enough bad guys willing to make a play at being cleared by voting late to condemn a bad guy for me to no longer consider the late votes, on eway or another, as having as much impact as they once did.

I'd assume if hoops is bad that his fellow wolves would be staying far away from him. I know I would.

I really don't see why Fouts would make up the story that Hoops tried to kill him. If he's a bad guy, he knows we'll just come after him tomorrow if we find out Hoops is a good guy. A 1 for 1 trade helps us right now and hurts the baddies. It makes no sense for Fouts to be lying.

Looks like a 6-6 tie with no vote from Schmidty. As of Post #476:

Fouts - Hoopsguy (335), Cronin (438), Tanglewood (441), Chubby (450), Path (471), Rum (472)

Hoopsguy - Fouts (336), KWhit (346), Barkeep (361), Saldana (364), Swaggs (388), Alan (474)

I think it's likely he was just mistaken, and he wasn't attempted to be killed but thought he was.

Of course, at the time Fouts made his statement Hoops was under serious pressure for his bribe attempt of AlanT. Not sure if Swaggs had revealed the fighting at that point yet or not.

somewhat...strategy is the biggest part, from choosing the cards in your deck right down to knowing when to play them, but there is some luck involved in when you draw them (this is controlled a bit by your deck construction), and there is some luck involved in what your opponent does, but again, i would say its 90% or more strategy.

Fouts entered the conversation after everything was on the table as far as our encounter. He clearly could have filled in the blanks and made hoops and/or I look bad, but the question would be why?

Alright. Was just kind of wondering if there could have been a luck attribute that got me involved in what happened last night.

If he knew or suspected that Hoops had an important role against this 3rd clan, he may have wanted him bumped off as soon as possible. If that was his plan, it nearly worked, Hoops was the runaway leader for the majority of the day mainly on the basis of his evidence. Only his own (curious) silence condemned him.

With the vote tight, you refuse to listen as much to st. cronin as you did the previous night when he voted for Blade who was proven innocent in death. It looks like the vote is tied, when AlanT decides to change his vote to Fouts.

With a majority vote for Fouts, it is agreed. As two guards move to Fouts to escort him to the dias with the sacrifical altar, he stands up and brushes them away, pushing them each back five feet magically.

"I will walk myself," Fouts says.

Fouts walks up to the altar and steps in himself. He motions and the staps magically close about him. The Euthanist steps up and pauses.

st. cronin offers him an opporunity for last words. Fouts just shakes his head, proudly, as if nothing needs to be said.

Then, hoopsguys approaches to read the rites. This elicits a response from Fouts, as he spits in hoopsguy's face. "Your words mean nothing."

With a nod from st. cronin, the Euthanist begins the blooding. It is sadly obvious to you all that Fouts is completely Orzhov.

Night Two has begun. It will end at 3:30 am EST Wednesday morning

This is a difficult stretch for me, as I am working in the day with no access to the Internet (or not the FOFC part of it, anyway). I have been trying to read through this thread and put ina vote before the deadline. I did just make it--but not with much time to think it through.

I decided the two corroborations (Alan T and Swaggs' accounts) versus one (Fouts) was the deciding factor for me in going with Fouts. And if Fouts goes down with st. cronin's double vote, I will have to take very seriously that it was my vote that actually put him on the euthanasia altar.
