You take the more dangerous looking short cut.

The light dims as you travel through the corridor. A light spell sure would come in handy now. No matter. You press onward as you can still see just a bit.

Bones crunch underfoot and it begins to get cold. Unearthly cold.

"I've got a bad feeling about this" one of you mutters.

A few shapes move quickly from up ahead and an unnatural, guttural moan can be heard just before you are attacked by 2 ghouls!

The ghouls attack first, and you get a negative modifier to hit them in the dim light.

The ghouls both hit PB - their claws stun him for 1 round.

J23 hits with his lightning!

PB is stunned.

Hoops hits 1x.

ALL OF YOU HIT!

One ghoul hits PB.

ALL OF YOU HIT AGAIN! And the first ghoul is hurt badly!

Agreed, although I felt that because the spell became available that it might mean there would be a couple opportunities to use it. Your heal spell definitely paid off as well.

After being KO'd yesterday I'm gone through a period of intense introspection. Here is what I've learned about myself in comabt:
1.) I am good at killing ghouls
2.) I am good at KO'ing heroes
3.) I struggle against short people
4.) I live longer when PB is getting hit

And honestly, that is basically my job. I'm the fullback, Hoops is the running back gouging at them, and J23 is the QB picking them off. I'm good with that, I'll use brute force and my ability to withstand pain to get us through. That's why when we find the next store/sale, I'll probably dump my cash into health potions.

You're in a stadium of sorts, with fans sitting high above you.

The DJ is there. He says, "Welcome to the Arena! Who wants to fight today?"

He explains that this event is for only ONE player. As a team, you must choose one of you to fight whatever he has in store.

The crowd screams for their favorite player of the team. Will you give him to them?

You cannot tell what or who you will fight. But you can prep with heals, exchanging items, etc before you begin.

Let me know who will fight. As soon as you decide, I will run the battle.

Not necessarily. We are each down one KO, while J23 has a clean slate. A loss by either one of us here would introduce more risk to our faction.

We were our own worst enemy and best friend. We picked the right strategy that got us through those early rooms quickly enough but got us no extra experience to level. It went downhill from there.

I also screwed up with my trait selection, should have gone with healing.

Live and learn, or get killed and learn in this instance.

Hoops, whoever goes, I say we load them out with the rest of our healing potions. The "One man enters, nobody leaves line" is interesting. I think whoever goes may be fighting to the death, beyond their knockouts.
