Room 17:
Leaving the room takes you through another long hallway. You move through it as quickly as you can, but once again, it becomes darker and darker. DV casts light which makes things much easier. Suddenly, Danny cries out in pain. He was in the back of the party (since your Autumn was looking for traps) and was critically backstabbed with a sneak attack! You get a quick look out of the corner of your eye at a Tiefling holding two black bladed short swords. But when you all turn around, he is gone! You wait for a moment, wondering what will happen next. When he appears next to Autumn and attacks him - hitting again! He is teleporting from place to place and seems to be wearing a cloak that makes him very hard to see. You spread out and look around to try to find him. |

After 5 turns of battle, the Tiefling is only semi-hurt and Big Wang has had to go through 3 of their healing potions.

After 10 turns, the Tiefling is near death.
But Danny and Autumn are out of healing potions and doing badly as well. |

Finally, on the 11th round, the Tiefling falls. He is dead.
You went through a total of 7 healing potions in this battle. 2 darkblade daggers and a blood red gem are on him. You take them. |

Room 18:
You move on into a large stone room. There are exits apparent in this room, except the one you just came through. After a quick look, you see the following features in it. A large yellow gem sits in the middle of the room. 2 charred skeletons lie next to it. A large pool of water sits on the floor to the right. A locked chest. A painting of a pile of gold and treasure. Please let me know what you want to do - and in what order - and by whom by 9pm tonight. |

u can pick the order as im going to be out for the day but here is my two cents:
1)Examine the painting as it might give clues about the chest 2) Have autumn check the chest for traps and then pick the chest open. 3)We approach the pool like we did last time with one person going into it and a second helping them 4)We use the red gem we recieved in the last room and touch it to the yellow gem. We do not touch the yellow gem with our bare skin! I'll send this in as a PM but change it at your will

All right guys, I'm back. Thanks for the thoughts - my grandfather passed yesterday, which is actually great. It's what he wanted, and he was 91 and had avoided a nursing home so far. We should all be so lucky.
I'll try to get the hang of things (damn we should have helped that elf) and see how we can get ahead for the win. |

I say we don't do anything with the pool until we've examined the chest and painting. I'm guessing there are clues there or equipment to use.
So examine the painting, then search and unlock the chest probably. KWhit, can we do that first and get results before we send in more actions? OR do we need one order? |

All right, well my two cents would be to examine the painting first while I search the chest for a trap. Then we could move on from there.

All right, I'm not sure if Danny's going to be back in time and we need time to figure out what w'ere doing. Have:
Darth examine the painting and... Autumn search the chest and lock for traps. Make that official, if you please, KWhit. |

Sounds good. I just wanted to avoid spending too many rounds here, we should try to do some stuff simultaneously, but looking at the painting first might be smart.

I'll take these one at a time.
Darth takes a look at the painting. Seems like an okay painting. He gets closer and touches it with a finger. As soon as he does, spikes shoot out from behind it, stabbing into him! That hurt him badly. |

Hmm, I take it then the scene in the painting had no clues. I'm guessing the key is the combination of the gem and the pool - the skeletons are charred, but so perhaps if we can get the gem in the pool something will happen. How shall we get it over there?
Probably next action should be me opening the chest, what do y'all think? |

Autumn works on picking the lock on the chest. It takes 3 turns, but he gets it done. Inside the chest are three scrolls.
DV takes a quick look at the scrolls - 3 scrolls of Shapechange! |

All right, how about this.
1. Autumn touches the red gem to the yellow gem while Darth and Danny investigate the pool (looking into it but not going in). if nothing happens and nothing is seen. 2. Use a dagger to knock the yellow gem into the pool |

Nothing Happens when you touch the gems together. The pool water is a murky. You can't see further than about 6 inches into it. 2. Use a dagger to knock the yellow gem into the pool You knock the dagger across the floor to the pool. The pool is actually raised a bit (like a fountain), but you slide the dagger under the gem, picking it up, and drop it into the pool. The gem disappears into the water. Nothing else happens. |

Sorry we're dragging this out so much, KWhit. I'm hesitant to make too many solo decisions, and I don't know what the hell to do.
Autumn will: 1. Touch the red gem to the water. if nothing happens 2. Put the red gem on the pedestal if nothing happens 3. Wade into the pool. |

The pool is deeeep. In fact you cannot touch the bottom. You swim down a bit and you think you see something down below you, but it's very deep and it's hard to tell what it is. Just a round-ish blackness. |

Just to be clear, too deep for us to hold our breath and swim down?
We have Darth cast a light spell as deep in as he can. If it is too deep for us to swim, we will use the scrolls to shapechange into sharks, or if necessary smaller fish that can swim down to the "hole". |

Correct. We have Darth cast a light spell as deep in as he can. It is in fact a hole. If it is too deep for us to swim, we will use the scrolls to shapechange into sharks, or if necessary smaller fish that can swim down to the "hole". All three of you hop into the water. You read the scrolls and change into small tiger sharks. You swim down and take a look. The hole leads to a tunnel. You go through it. The tunnel leads up, up, up... And into another pool in a different room! |

Room 19:
You enter a small room of white marble. It is beautiful. Artfully carved into the walls are depictions of many gods and goddesses of old. In the center kneels a young man dressed in the traditional white robes of a cleric. He smiles at you as you exit the pool. "Well done," he says. "You made it this far. Not much further now. Come. Let me heal you. It looks like you need it. He casts healing spells on you - healing the entire party. "Make any other preparations you wish to now. There may not be another chance." "Also, since you're my favorite team - the GOOD team - here are a few more potions." He hands you 4 more healing potions! Let me know of any actions you wish to take by tomorrow at noon. The next room happens at NOON tomorrow. |
