So Clemson's good. Alabama's good. Georgia is good.

And that's it?

24-17 UGA going into half. Stetson Bennett is hitting less than 50% of his passes, with 4 balls tipped at the line and one of those intercepted. That is the only thing saving this from being lopsided.

Saban begging for a field goal try on an added extra second finally pays off. Only took 7 years.

I think it is Clemson is great, Alabama and Georgia are ok, and there is quite a bit of mediocre.

Bama about to start to pull away here. It is just so frustrating. Georgia has two 4-5 star quarterbacks sitting on the bench, but instead the starter is a no star former walk-on. But he has "heart" and "spirit". He is also short and in-accurate.

Brutal PI penalty. I hate how ticky tack that is called at every level today. Georgia still has a shot if they hold them to a FG there, but can’t see it now.

And the little scrappy heart guy throws another interception. After missing an open player down field. Ugh.

To be fair, GA turned it around against the Hogs in the 2H when Stetson played.

And the Vols have an OL that account for 20* between them ... but you've seen how effective they are.

It's certainly within the realm of possibility that Bennett is the best option.
Not saying he is, just sayin that it's not exactly crazy talk

Yeah, from first hand experience I don’t think JT is the savior. He’s fine, but he’s not the #1 QB in his class either.

And once again, GA chokes.

I like FSU and glad they had an upset. I think Osceola and Renegade are the best mascots in college football, and glad the Seminole tribe supports their use.

Saw flashes of encouraging signs for FSU against ND and then last night the D finally decided to play a bit. First time Marvin Wilson's been seen since a couple of blocked kicks the 1st week. Still can't stop the run. I could get 4 yards a carry against that DL. Norvell still trying to erase the undisciplined play but at least he's holding people accountable - benched guys for PFs unlike the last coach. This is still a lost/rebuilding year and it'll continue for at least another year or two, but there's a glimmer of hope. It takes time to erase a losing/selfish/don't care mentality.

The thing is that it is not just JT. D'Wan Mathis was a four star, 6'6 and lightning fast. Carson Beck, a 6'4 four star out of Florida. With Jt, that is 3 highly recruited players that some how couldn't beat out a 5'11 walk on? Either Smart's team is really bad at evaluating talent, or they are really bad at coaching players up. Also, why would you play a guy with absolutely no up side, when there has to be upside to the three guys you have riding the bench?

Smart is looking like Richt 2.0. We are back to winning "recruiting national championships" and under preforming on the field.

And you probably will. That's the other thing Kirby has done well. Recruit great QB's for them to go off to other teams. Heck, Richt did as well, when he even bothered recruiting them. Didn't even bother recruiting Deshaun Watson, who grew up a Georgia fan. Offered Cam Newton as a tight-end! I would be surprised at all if Justin Fields ends up winning the Heisman this year. It just really screams "bad at talent evaluation."
I was going to leave this here as well:

So Liberty was a last second change to their schedule due to COVID, but now its looking like a great game after Liberty dominates Syracuse and remains undefeated as does Coastal.

In some fairness though, that seems to be what most programs do these days. I think you've got 7 QBs listed on the roster, which is in the hope that you have 2 or 3 by the start of 2021 practice.

The QB shuffle is life in the current era. Hell, it happens at UT and we all know they don't have a QB older than FR on the roster that's worth a damn.

Pretty much

Its reaching the point where it's almost better to hold a spot for a transfer if you can't land a HS QB you really like. And the days of landing 2 good HS quarterbacks in the same class are over unless you're part of a small handful of schools.

For 80% of P5 schools it's just a giant game of musical chairs.

Could have probably not dropped at all.

Notre Dame jumped them but looked like crap
#5 hasn't played a game yet
#6 didn't play
#7 has the same record but took a worse beating by the same team
#8 hasn't played yet

The polls are in a weird state. Florida lost their last game and moved UP a spot in the coaches poll this week AND remains ahead of the team that beat them in their last game

What is the plan for OSU? Are they going to be able to play all the conference games before bowl season? And if not, should they be considered eligible for the championship games?

The Big 10 is playing 8 regular season conference games + the conference championship, so 9 games total before the CFP selections. That is enough for any of them to qualify.

The Pac-12 is playing 6 regular seasons + a game championship weekend.

OSU is in Big-10 and have played 0 games.

Not sure when bowl season begins but only 9 more weeks before Sat, Dec 19. So they are cutting it close with no/little room in case a game has to be postponed.

OSU could play four games, go undefeated, and be in the playoff.

The goal is money, and OSU drives ratings.

It is Illinois, but I will not deny that this QB is legit.

I hope it comes down to the last weekend, but I think Minny has a say,

I did pick Purdue beating Iowa this weekend. Iowa always starts slow and we have a new QB.

Sigh.

Unfortunately, no Hog football this weekend. A&M up next weekend, looking forward to it (been a long time when I think the Hogs have a legit chance to win on any particular weekend).

Hope our defense keeps it up and offense finally clicks a step up from mediocrity.

#24 Coastal Carolina plays today at home vs Georgia Southern at noon on ESPN U. I think almost all of their games have been televised this season, which is crazy. Last year they played a crazy game, losing in 3OT, so they can't take them for granted.

An unexpected starter for Coastal as their freshman phenom is out with an upper body injury. The new starter started about 10 games last season, so had plenty of experience. He's thrown for 2 TD's and 160 yards+ but also two INT's. It's 14-14 at the half.

Nebraska's lines have looked better through most of the half. Not enough skill players for Nebraska outside of Robinson or they would be real tough. McCaffrey is going to be a player if they find him a role.

I'm sure the choke will be on, but Rutgers leads Michigan State 28-13 at the half. We scored like 50 points total in all of our B10 games last season, so we have eclipsed 50% of our entire last season total in one half. How bad is Chris Ash?

Stayed the same thru 3, but then Coastal finally got on the board again in the 4th. Defense was the star of the game, holding Georgia Southern to just over 100 yards passing, and under 100 yards rushing. Coastal wins 28-14 and preserves its ranking for another week!

FSU's defense and WRs should have to walk back to Tallahassee. Thank God I stopped watching at 14-7, no need to ruin the rest of the weekend. What a shitshow.
