Earlier today, a delivery truck drove by and pulled the telephone line, along with a few pieces of siding, off my house. Verizon is not coming to repair it until Friday.

I have a bad feeling that the truck company is not going to pay for repairs because the line was not suspended high enough over the road (although trucks go by everyday).

Well if it's because of the clearance and it was too low then it's Verizon that should be paying for the repair. If it was the proper amount of clearance then it's the delivery company at fault. I'm not familiar with your specific area but in CA it's called GO95 (General Order 95 are the guidelines for proper aerial clearances with telecommunication and electrical lines). Proper clearance is typically 18 feet at the crest of the street (middle) and 16 feet at the curb and 12 at the customers driveway and 10 at the connection at the house.

Approximately 20% of the posts I read on FOFC piss me off to no end and make me want to leave forever. If that number grows to 35%, I'm gone.

And I am measuring this.

Perhaps he was doing too many searches for porn on the Internets, and Tipper finally got fed up. He had to know that inventing the Internets would some day come back to bite him on the ass.

Notice someone's lights are on as I'm leaving the facility-

Phone call....

Me-Hey, this is Steve the med-man, I was leaving out of the parking lot, and noticed someone with a red Hyundai SUV left their lights on

Chick-Who is this?

Me-Steve....I deliver the medicine, I was just in there. Is this {name of facility}?

Chick-Yes...(out loud) anyone own a red Honda? Hold on.

In My Head-Why the fuck do I need to stay on hold. There's like 5-7 people working at this place, figure out who's fucking car it is.
(2 minutes later)
Chick-Is it a Maroon Hyundai?

Me-I gotta go.

I think I'm done trying to be nice, I just can't take it anymore

As I threw out another razor cartridge last night, I found myself thinking "Does that infomercial razor blade sharpener thing really work". Anyone know?

I think there was a thread here about them, and the consensus was that it worked OK. I've also heard of people having very good results by, after use, running the razor blade in the direction against the cutting direction on the inside of your arm: Make Your Disposable Razor Blade Last For 20 Months - The Consumerist

I think we had a general thread about how bad shaving sucks. I bet it's in there. I know I contributed a bunch to it!

I've had a beard going on 3 years now.

I'd shave more if replacement blades weren't so damn expensive.

against the cutting direction along your forearm. in a way that shouldn't cut you (i do it and do think it makes my blades last longer). that link has the jist of the details, i'm probably not explaining it well (i blame the meds).

Yeah, I watched the video. I might just try that next time I'm getting ready to pitch a razor blade. I just started a new one last night which is why I was thinking about it.

my electric was getting dull and I ran out of blades for my Mach whatever razor. I couldn't bring myself to pay whatever exorbitant sum replacement blades were, so I picked up what I thought were some decent, mid-range disposals.

I think I would have gotten a closer shave by throwing cotton balls at my face. it was ludicrous.

the good news is that I had no idea that you could replace the blades in an electric. bought a replacement cutter and now it's like new again.

That's exactly the issues that I have. Replacements for a Mach 3 razor (5 pack) at Target is like 18 and some change and the stupid disposals couldn't shave the fuzz off of a peach. What I want to know though, why when my cousin buys his Mach 3 razor blades at the Navy base, they are like 6 bucks? WTF???
