Craig Kimbrel starts off the year right. Two appearances nets us ...

1.1 innings pitched, 4 walks, 4 earned runs, 2 home runs.

Lorenzo Cain has opted out as well.

Just a matter of time before MLB shuts it all down.

At this point, I don't think Trout is going to come back from paternity leave. Wouldn't make any sense to when we can't even get through 2 weeks and teams are seeing outbreaks.

And the Angels look terrible and somehow have a worse pitching staff than the last few years. He’s not coming back.

Apparently when the players were upset about not playing they were actually upset they couldn't go to clubs and casinos with their teammates.

ERod shut down for the season due to the heart issues as a result of COVID.

Sox fans knew that the pitching was gong to be a problem this season. But not this level of problem. No one could I think. But hey, you take the good and the bad. At least it's baseball.

Damned if I ever got much impression they were all that upset about not playing in the first place. If they could have figured out how to collect paychecks without bothering to show up for work, that always seemed to be their preferred option.

Joey Votto self reported symptoms and is on the injury list, but the Reds are playing a double header. There seems to be very little consistency in regards to when teams have games cancelled.

Cancel this season. The Cardinals have lost 4 games. This is such a money grab by the owners.

Or just do a NCAA basketball tourney type season.

Seems like they are doing it like "normal" workplaces. Symptoms stay home. Once a positive test pops up you go to step 2. Moose had symptoms as well but didnt have CV so perhaps Votto got that.

Last week it was actually Moose and Senzel that were held out of games while Davidson was positive and out. Making the Reds play without three players seems inconsistent with what's happening with other teams. What are the rules for when games are cancelled?

At this point in time I dont think fairness is a priority. Just want the games to get played while limiting the positive cases.

I dont think at this point theyd even care if the Yankees had to go without Judge, Stanton, and Cole for a week while waiting to get cleared.

Trevor Bauer showed some of the behind the scenes on his youtube channel and you are quizzed and temp checked upon arriving at the field every day, Votto could have reported there and been sent home.

The Reds at least, had protocol in place for the cafeteria to keep people apart, with the only real mask free interaction being in the dugout. Of course people have to follow the rules still.

I assume it's because of so many high profile instances, but achilles seems to be the en vogue injury of the past couple of years.

The Reds have had a pitcher go at least six innings while giving up one run or fewer 11 times.

And it feels like the bullpen has blown every damn one of them.

What exactly do you do with the Cardinals at this point? Force them to play a DH every other day? By the time they are scheduled to play again on Thursday - barring any other postponements - they'll have 5 games and the lowest number of games anyone else will have played is 13. Most teams will be in the 17-19 range.

Their next opponent in the Tigers, who have already had 6 games postponed thanks to the Rona. I'm sure they don't want to fall any further back.

How do you even justify having a season? There is no way the Cardinals can compete. They have to play something like 55 games in 47 days. At this point their pitchers are in danger of injury. What happens when 2 or 3 dudes end up getting Tommy John? That is another lost season for the team.

The team is denying that. Claiming an outside source came into the clubhouse and infected the team.

I dont understand why the cardinals cant field a team. The Marlins are. So one more player tested positive, I think every team has a couple IL COVID positives right now right? Unclear on what the taxi squad and 40 man roster were for. (And I am a cardinals fan)

Brodie Van Wagenen gave up a top 75 prospect and what should be a solid bullpen arm for 11 starts from Marcus Stroman.

How are they in danger of Tommy John? Because of their routine? Im sorry, but guys were throwing back to back games for decades in MLB. Or just mess with service time. There are ways around it, but the team doesnt want to worry about that.

The great news for baseball fans is most of them could care less if the Cards(who cant follow the rules) get a fair shake. They can start start their 25th starting pitcher for all I care. Plenty of teams have a lot at stake and care enough to follow the rules.

Gentlemen, the solution is obvious. It's time to disband the Cardinals.

Dispersal draft, dissolution of franchise, destruction of the stadium and surrounding city, and a salting of the earth. Anything less is merely a half measure.

Haha!

Nah! Its just hard to hear a Cardinals fan complain about a possible poor season with the amount of winning seasons they have had over the years. Apparently the person that posted that forgets that some teams like the Twins, dont seem to get opportunities all the time to win Championships and even division titles.

And plus any sports right now IMO is better than no sports.
