Bodes well for Coastal Carolina who gets them next, They have somehow rebounded from a horrible start to get 6 wins and be bowl eligible. They will probably lose by 30 to Georgia Southern later today now that I'm pumping them up. They have scored 40+ points in 4 of the last 5 games.

Tech survives their own HC.

The timing of that timeout has me seriously concerned that Mario Cristobal is contagious.

Why did SC keep hiking the ball at 1 second and let A&M time so many blitzes. No one ever explained that. What the hell was that?

Make that 5 of 6 40+ points games. Too bad Ga Southern scored 45

I'm still in shock. Up 11 in the fourth quarter, Kirby calks a surprise onside kick and recovers it. Crazy.

Virginia Tech gets Franklin and it sounds like Chesney to UCLA. Nice hire for UCLA. Chesney was going to be a fall back option for bigger jobs this cycle.

UAB football player arrested after stabbing two teammates - ESPN

Quote:
A UAB football player stabbed two of his teammates Saturday morning at the football facility ahead of the Blazers' home game against South Florida, a university spokesman confirmed to ESPN.

The suspect has been arrested, and both injured players are in stable condition after being taken to UAB hospital. The school has not released the names of any of the players involved.

UAB will still play its game against South Florida, set to kick off at 3 pm ET.

A UAB official said an investigation is ongoing.

"UAB's top priority remains the safety and well-being of all of our students," the school said in a statement.

I have watching/listening to the EPL most of the day but this feels like a story that should have a continuous breaking news alert on the ticker.

And at this point I'm not even joking. My surprise level would be precisely zero if we someday find out that they were getting paid to tank.

Barring some sort of miracle 6 days from now, GT should fire every single member of the defensive coaching staff AND not renew the scholarship of any player who saw the field on defensive for more than, say, 10 plays per game in the past month. They wanted to be mercenaries, let them find out the cost of failure in the real world.

I struggle to believe you could gin up a more worthless excuse for a defense starting from scratch in the spring than what GT has put on the field down the stretch.

It's already what happens in college basketball, might as well give it a try on a larger scale afaic.

I don't follow GT that much, but isn't this season far better than their expectations?

There's a lot of pain about OSU and their offense after only winning 42-9 yesterday.

Bob Chesney is rumored to have a tentative deal in place with UCLA. Kiffin rumored to have a possible deal with LSU, but Ole Miss and Florida have nearly identical offers on the table for him. Kiffin is announcing his decision on Saturday.

FSU confirmed Norvell is back next year, which is a sign of where their finances are. Wisconsin is bringing back Fickell with improved NIL support.

My nephew hosts the Locked On Sports podcast for Georgia Tech. If you would, throw it a follow. They are at 900 and need a 1000 to monetize.

Sounds like Florida is out of the running for Kiffin. Not a surprise. They werent beating LSU if he decides to leave Ole Miss. Penn Stare has struck out on several guys they were interested in. I don't know who their top target was, but they thought they had their guy either locked in or were very confident they'd land him when they fired Franklin. Sounds like they may turn to Chesney and see how locked in he is with UCLA.

He said when Locked On approached him, they said there was no other network that had a dedicated GT podcast. They have only been going a couple of weeks and got to 800 almost immediately (on Youtube btw). Get to that 1k monetization mark would help a lot in keeping it going.

I get it but ... 11 teams in 15 years, never more than 3 years in any location. I mean, they kinda had to know what they were hiring.

edit: and while I have obvious feelings about the Kiffin debacle, a certain amount of buyer beware applies for Ole Miss too.

GT highpowered offense. GT terrible defense versus a UGA offense hitting it's stride. And yet I knew this would in end up a low scoring slug fest.

Without looking into it too deeply, I think they'll need Miami to squeeze their way into the ACC championship game and BYU to lose. Both are blocking the way for an at large bid. If Miami is in the ACC title game then win or lose Texas benefits. BYU has UCF and then, assuming a win there, Texas Tech in the Big 12 title game. A win for BYU in the title game would bump Texas Tech down to an at large and still likely ahead of Texas. They probably need Vandy to lose to Tennessee and Michigan to lose to Ohio State as well.

In short, they need a lot of help.

The average ticket price was $135. That is actually less than an average ticket price for a Georgia SEC home game ($235). The ticket gate was probably around $8 million, but then they also get concessions, parking, etc. This was mostly about advertising. It was the "Investco QQQ gridiron classic". They also own the naming rights to Georgia-Florida game that is going to played at MBS next year.

Edit: There are other benefits as well. My friend bought Falcons season tickets this year in large part to have dibs on tickets for this game and the Georgia-Florida game. it wasn't the only reason, but it was a driving factor in what was probably a $6k investment.
