I haven't seen it. Man, they fell apart at the end. I wonder what was going on there?

Yeah, I don't get them falling apart at all. It's almost like the Patriots choking away the AFC Championship game.

I was thinking at first there's a wolf for sure on that team, but I'm sure they knew who was supposed to vote, so that doesn't make sense.

Too bad the main thread is closed. I wanted to tweak Blade a little more. Evil, I know.

It's different if you're lynched or night killed. But this is more competitive than that......

There were a couple times I had things typed and ended up just deleting. Nobody is following him right now anyway. I have no idea how wolves would coordinate something like this anyways -- Swaggs was an obvious choice early, and then at that point you might as well keep voting him to make sure JE didn't start picking up votes........and Lathum shutting out Blade on those last two was just smart play I believe.

I honestly expected Swaggs to be one of their last two votes. Maybe he was going to be their last one, but got blocked before he could. Who knows. Maybe that's why they missed the earlier vote, too. I don't know. Strategically, it made sense to me to keep voting for the same person thinking that that person was going to vote some time. It just so happens that that theory also plays into the hands of hurting them if they do win the challenge, which I really expected them to do. I figured we were going to go back into tribal council, but I wanted to hurt them, too. I didn't want us to be the only team with three members (I know Swaggs won't be killed, but maybe he'll be prevented from participating in the next challenge or something).
I know Blade's going to try to pin it on us, and probably me specifically, but we weren't the only team to vote for Swaggs. For a while there, Helsing was voting right along with us because they were thinking along the same lines. Of course, Blade will forget this and focus on us tomorrow. Oh well. At least we're not in tribal council. |

I don't think Blade has a lot of allies with the way he's acted today. Notice none of his teammates came to his defense.
Jesus. Do I want to see the Ardent thread?

Yes, Marathoner, excellent work today. I don't know how we pulled that one out of our asses, but we did. (Well, more like you guys did. I was more of a decoy)

I was really feeling bad that the double post thing was going to land us in council. I really do believe we've got a very strong team here and can go a ways.

I agree they need to relax. Some people take things way too seriously (says the guy who just whooped when we finished first in that last vote). Everyone should take a step back and chill. I can understand Tyrith being upset that someone's accused him of cheating, but he really didn't do any favors to himself by stirring the pot there with AE. And AE, I don't know. I know he's had a rough couple of weeks personally, but that shouldn't (in theory) spill into the game. It might be best if he does do what Chief did and volunteer to be the one voted off from Oz. |

Go read the thread. It's a thing of beauty (until AE and Tyrith blow up at each other again). The abridged story is that Marathoner pulled off a miracle in the last two votes and placed first. On top of that, Blade was blocked in the second to last vote and Lupus didn't vote at all on the last vote. They went from having a commanding lead to going to tribal council. I'm telling you, it was beautiful. |

Actually I'm just thankful that we had it in my game since I have more of a club than most GMs. Of course most GMs would never have hosted this game after nearly every player he talked to warned him that something like this might have happened .
That said I'm really pleased with how the game is going overall as it seems like 80% are really enjoying it. So hopefully all that's behind us now. Last edited by Barkeep49 : 02-07-2007 at 09:59 PM. |

I think the strategy part that was there was "discovered" as the day went on and ended up being important in the end. I hope that is what made it fun more than the somewhat arbitrary nature of having post at a particular second.

Definitely. Finding a strategy instead of just randomly voting really helped us out. Along with some mistakes from Lupus and some help from Lathum. |

I guess my initial thoughts were to spread it out, bid low on the low value territories b,d,f,g,h,j,o and then put more a couple higher value targets.
Total point value is 277 fwiw, if we get 70 points that should ensure at least third place. |

Couple ideas that cross my mind immediately:
1) Bid at least $1 dollar on each place in order to pick up the ones that inevitably won't get any bids and then focus the rest of the money on two or three key provinces. 2) The planner in me notes that since (as Marathoner noted) 70 points should ensure us survival, that each of our $29 dollars need to generate 2.41 points.

I like the idea of bidding at least $1 for each place. I also think we should avoid spending heavily on the big guns, but at least put $3 or $4 on Greater Werewolvia in case everyone else decides to avoid it.
