Nice to see that the police even have some sympathy. This is from a report on the SF-Oak game from the SF Chronicle:

Quote:
Yet there was this: As the game mercifully wound to a close, several groups of 49ers and Raiders fans came together in the stadium's upper concourses. Not in battle, but in peace.

In a nod to the Bay Area's, er, colorful past, they fired up some illegal herb together and openly enjoyed themselves while San Francisco Police looked the other way.

"Why bother?" one officer said. "It's them, and 25 other groups in the stadium."

After the performance of the Denver defense last night, I'm going to be extremely embarrassed if the Broncos lose to the Raiders on Sunday.

Is it possible to letdown that much?

At this point, I'm going to be embarrassed if the first home TD we give up is to Oakland.

They could be thinking about next season and still win.

They could concentrate on convincing Jake to shave that gay ass 'stache of his and still win by 30.

There's probably a lot of players in Oakland who deserve to be sitting down on Sundays for conduct detrimental to the team.

Yeah, but the easiest scapegoat here is the guy who hasn't played a game yet this year. If it weren't for Jerry Porter, they'd have a great lockerroom chemistry and would be well on their way to that 10 win season everyone (ok, only one) expected them to have.

i had to reread the article on what happened at the raiders practice a couple of days ago. i have never heard a similar story occuring in pro football. the Raiders are in serious need of a government takeover.

jbmagic repeat after me 8,000,000 times

I pretty well think LaMont Jordan is my least favorite RB in the NFL. Ruben Droughns being a close second I suppose.

Man, someone needs to start a raiders drinking game.

I'll start. Every time the Raiders hold on offense take a drink.

Oh wait, you'd probably get alcohol poisoning right there.

Every False Start, take a 3rd of a shot, otherwise your ass is dead.

If there was a wrestler named "Oakland Raider," his finishing move would be called "The False Start."

The best thing about the Raiders, is they vary how they fuck up.

Sometime it's false start. Sometimes it's holding, sometimes it's personal fouls.

Michaels: "Can the Raiders start something before halftime?"
Me: "Are you shitting me?

The league now only has to hand a referee a single Raiders game to give them a real life example of every possible penalty call.
