Good thing there are two other QB's. The Tie Fighter blew the other one all to hell. Man, this is incredible. Customization at its finest.

And Mizzou, you go ahead and bring in Chuck Norris. I've got a mini Mike Ditka that will beat the hell out of you.

I think we can actually program Maximum Football to play like Calvinball. That would be awesome....

I rewatched some of Napolean Dynamite tonight and I think he's the programmer for MF.

I've been working on this sweet football game. Its completely customizable and its got a sweet 3d graphics engine. You can have regular football players, or football players with giant feet, or football players with Kabuki masks. Its frickin awesome.

Uhhh. I wish all these idiots would stop talking about their stupid spreadsheet games. I did that like twenty years ago. I coded it with my girlfriend. It was cool, but uuhhh nobody wants to play stupid spreadsheet games when you can see frickin sweet 3d graphics. So lay off, all right.

And don't forget, its not an NFL game. Those are cool, but Canadian, customizable, giant feet, Kabuki, eleven man blitz, no draft football is a hundred times cooler. The 3d graphics are so cool you'll probably have to get a new video card. I have a customizable video card and its just barely good enough.

Its frickin sweet.

Hello, I'm albionmoonlight. You may be wondering where FOFC goes with this joke. Do we focus on the fact that this announcement was made on the Wednesday that the game was supposed to be released? Do we inquire as to the irony of changing a "final" build? Will we try to find humor in the nature of a "low risk" addition? Or do we simply keep it classic and make some joke based on the Super Bowl?

You'll have to stay tuned to find out.

So, it seems that yesterday, there were two threads started at the M-F forums... here are their titles:

Man Defense
Cheerleaders

Seems to me, the volume and enthusiasm of response to these topics might shed some sort of light onto the priorities of the M-F community, no? We'll keep a running tab, just to see what we might be dealing with there.

As of this writing:

Code:
Replies to Man Defense Replies to Cheerleaders XXXXXXXXXXXX Views of Man Defense thread: 8 Vier of Cheerleaders thread: 402

Stay tuned.

I will. Video playback on a PC is one of the riskier bits to get working right. You don't add it right before shipping, and any changes to videos (length, size, codec, etc) are very risky and need thorough testing. If he does not already have a video playback engine, adds one, and ships a couple of days later, I would not be surprised if he gets significant support requests related to the video playback engine.

The real question is if he adds cheerleaders to the sidelines, how many years will that delay the release?

Tack on the related changes needed to the box artwork and we're looking at 2008.

Geez. You people are so demanding. This is an easy solution.

TD = 12 points
FG = 6 points
Safety = 4 points
PAT = 0 points

There you go. No problemo. I have fixed your issue and now I am confident you will purchase this game and enjoy it immensely.

Sweet. I think you need to make it 7 points on FG's longer than 50 yards though.

It's pretty funny that no matter how many defenders there are, #30 always manages to get wide open. Of course, it won't matter if he doesn't turn the fuck around.

I want to just have two OL, three WR vs two DL, three DB, and a floater on each team who looks for the Glowing Firefly, which when caught counts for 250 points and ends the game

Post-Superbowl Blues? Maximum-Football Goes Gold!
Posted by Matrix Admin on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 @ Eastern Daylight Time

Run, Throw, Manage, Coach, Design Plays and More!

Matrix Games and Wintervalley Software www.wintervalley.com are proud to announce the second sports title in the Matrix Games line, Maximum-Football, has gone gold and is expected to release early next week as the first 3D sports strategy game of the 21st Century.

Primarily a coaching and management game, Maximum-Football is a robust North American Football game where you can change nearly every single aspect of the rules and features. Use Indoor, outdoor, Canadian, or American rules, or any combination thereof. Utilize the robust play editing system to create your own playbook specifically tailored for the team you drafted and trained in the pre-season. Compete in player run leagues and discover if you have what it takes for a championship ring.

It isn’t just managing every aspect of a team though, Maximum-Football also features fully functional coaching and arcade mode where you can watch the action or take the controls to run, pass, block, and tackle in true 3D. The feature list for Maximum-Football is tremendous, but here is a peek at just some of the key items on the list. For the complete list, please visit the Matrix Games Maximum-Football forum at www.matrixgames.com.

Maximum-Football Feature List:

*Multiple rules styles. Play Canadian, American Pro, American Amateur, or Indoor styles of football, all with a single game.

*Ability to mix and match some rules to create your own league with your own rules.

*Fully DirectX based with full 3D game play environment. This is not a text based game.

* The Play Development System. The most advanced play design system available for any football title on any platform. A point and draw system allows you to draw the player routes and assign scripted actions to the player along those routes. Most plays imaginable can be created with the PDS. Works with all rules styles.

*A full practice mode allows you to take to the full 3D practice field and run your newly created plays with or without a defense.

*Open source team artwork allows for simple addition of user created artwork for team uniforms and field artwork.

*Basic career mode allows for drafting players from a free agent pool, developing their skills through a training camp system, and watching them perform on the field until they eventually retire.

Discover the ultimate gridiron game! Maximum-Football will be available next week from the Matrix Games store.

Glad they cleared that up. Even after saying it was DirectX in a full 3D enviroment, I still thought it might be a text sim. ..

This does not explicitly say it isn't text based, so is practice mode 3D but still text based.? I'm so confused now...

Anyone else notice the dates of the announcements on the MFing news page?

12/15/04 - Annoucement that MFing is joining Matrix
3/15/05 - Annoucement about a MFing developer chat
2/15/06 - Annoucement that MFing has gone gold.

All those 15's have me thinking that this is just an elaborate enigma puzzle.
-----------------------------------------------
Here are three similar number sequences...decode the hidden meaning to find the actual release date.
-----------------------------------------------

So let's see...the 15's cancel each other out. Add the 2, but subtract number of days in December... Hmmm.... Divide by 107 man rosters and a 87 team CFL European Division... By my calculations, it's either coming out on Septembruary 15, 2037 or it came out six years ago. I dunno.
