A phone call breaks the still of the night. Tasan's wife reaches over, and answers the phone. Tasan II runs into the room, just in time to see his mother cry. There is no need for an explanation. With steel resolve, Tasan II turns, heads to his room, and starts packing his gear. His brothers, Tasan III, IV, V, and VI, all help him. Dismissing his mother's pleas he heads out the door and catches the first bus to the airport. He has only one mission, one plan. Revenge. He pulls out his cell phone and calls XCom command.

I think the only appropriate response to that mission report is: Holy Crap!
I hope the Asia Com group doesn't meet the same kind of resistance-we can't afford more losses like this mission. |

As long as there is Grizzled Sergeant CWII, there will always be hope, even if he has to beat Sectoids to death with the appendages of fallen agents!

No kidding. I remember my stats when I started out. I thought I'd be lucky to survive my first mission, much less nine. Now, about my arm. Is it still there? Or am I about to be a recipient of the X-Com Organ Donation Program?

Normally, I bitch anytime EU Com goes on a mission that I'm not included on. This time, however, I think I'll just keep quiet and count my blessings.

Damn, I get 5 kills and I don't feel like having a drink to celebrate. I think I'll have a few to forget what just happened though.

Reading the transcripts of the German mission caused the following internal dialogue between the two main personalities within SplitP.
Quote:
SplitP-A: Shouldn't that be "Rest in pieces". :rimshot: SplitP-B: Very tacky, bro. SplitP-A: Just trying to use humor to relieve the stress. SplitP-B: Better luck next time. SplitP-A: Do you think we could pull a Naiwf? That guy was awesome! SplitP-B: I'm not sure. We do outnumber any opponent we face. Maybe we have the strength and stamina of multiple men as well. SpitP-A: I hope so.....Oh crap. Hear that? The alarms are sounding again. Looks like we might found out sooner rather thatn later. Good luck. SplitP-B: You too. SplitP-A: That goes for the rest of you as well. SplitP-C through SplitP-Q: Thanks. |

Update
Sachmo III survived the short ride back to X-COM headquarters. Once there, Crappy and his staff were able to pump enough snytho-blood in him to stablize his systems. Sachmo III is going to live. Whether he'll fight again is another question. Crappy will operate tonight. He'll attempt to use Tasan's knee as a bridge to get Sachmo III's lower leg back on. We'll know more tomorrow about the outcome. Naiwf will get one of Blade's eyes, as Blade seemed to hit a lot more of his targets than Tasan did. The color of the eyes don't match, but it should work. All's good. Japherwaki II won't need any unused body parts. Crappy should be able to sew him up easily. Shortly after the EU COM Skyranger lands, ASIA COM heads into battle against the second UFO. Another biggie. More Sectoids. On board: Split Personality III, Rich, Jeff Nights II, Danny Van Halen, Condors II, Render II, Travis III, Zippy II, Fonzie II, Calis. Good luck men. As an aside, we'll move to a new thread with Sunday's mission, as this one is getting kind of long. I'll post a link here when we do. Last edited by Godzilla Blitz : 02-20-2004 at 02:14 PM. |

Tucker: Me too. That was a painful mission. It was a hell of a lot of fun to play though. It seemed like every time I moved there were aliens bearing down on us. Fun stuff.
Katon: No problem. You'll be at the top of the list for the next one. I'm thinking, too, that we might bring AFRICA COM on line as a full, attack base sometime next month, if we have enough money to do so. We're getting overwhelmed with UFO attacks and could use a fourth assault team. We'll change the transfer order to go: SAM COM, then AFRICA COM. Split: Good humor! Let's hope that more than half of you stay calm in this upcoming mission. Sachmo: Yeah, I want to go back and work on those medals sometime soon. I would think Coffee should get something for that. That was a pretty studly effort. Lokugh, Northwood DK, Peregrine, Barkeep, Raven Hawk, Kingfc, Ardent: Got it. Welcome aboard. We can still take one more person. If were one short tomorrow, I'll add to the call list. Breeze: You saved the mission. I think 5 kills is close to a record. Raven Hawk might have had a couple more on his "kill-everything-in-sight" mission, but I think you might be second with that performance. Real: LOL! Naiwf: I would think your performance is deserving of some kind of medal. You'll at least get the Purple Heart, but I would think the medals committee will give you something more. Tasan: Sorry about losing you. I needed everyone, and couldn't let you sit in a rocking chair. I thought you were going to be ok after you survived those two head shots, but then that damn Cyberdisc came out of nowhere. |

Another attack base??? That would be great because it would get me closer to the action. Maybe I could team up with AE and splatter some Sectoids.

Not sure if I am about near ready for active duty, but Chief Rum is ready for active duty when ready. I just wanted to reconfirm that I am checking in.

[Holds a locket while aboard the trooper jet taking him to an undisclosed XCOM base.]
"Dad, I know you never amounted much to anything... specially after dying in a 1-alien mission, in which you were the only casualty... pretty pathetic really... I'll be a SOMEBODY, dad. And I'm going to make sure they forget about the shortness of your XCOM career." [Kisses the locket and breathes out a sigh.]

Sorry I missed this, GB. Thanks for moving me up...I've been in and out of town recently. Way to stick it out on that last mission...seems like you did a lot in an adverse situation. Keep up the good work!

Skyranger Transmission
Apparently our new Skyranger pilot refuses to answer the phone. However, the battle was close enough (southwest Germany) that EU COM could patch through to Jeff Nights II on his headset. He reports... Encountering light to moderate Sectoid resistance...Have killed several enemy troops...Have establish strong firing position on enemy UFO exits...No casualties suffered...Mission proceeding as planned...Things are looking fine. |
