For what it's worth... it looks to me like this might just be a pain in the ass, rather than an impossibility. In FOF 2004 (I just checked) you will still be able to see the player's birthdate, and therefore will be able to impute his zodiac sign. From what I can see (very limited checking) the system of affinities and conflicts works just as it did in FOF4 -- it's just that the signs are not identified anywhere on the player card, nor on the attitude advisory screen

However, if you're willing to root through the birthdates, convert them to signs, and use the chart that was have been using in this career, you ought to do fine in forecasting your affinities and conflicts, I think. Looks like it can still be done - it just will be a lot tougher to do, thanks to the whiner community.

The way I had the formation specific depth charts set up, Harden (as RB2) was getting too many carries. I was tweaking with the set-up when I flipped Harden and Finley as RB1 and RB2. That change gave me results close to my ideal of splitting the carries evenly among our three backs. So I left it that way.
