Portal 2, a busy week at work and reading "The Name of the Wind" have kept me pretty busy this week. I should be around a bit more, although Warcraft is slated to release 4.1 this week, so that should probably eat a bit of my time as well.

So it seems Black Dye is still pretty rare. I've been the only one with any on the Auction House all weekend. I had to buy a rare ingredient which cost me 7p, expensive but they are very available and consistently priced. Figured I'd throw it up there at 15p since it's only 6g deposit to post.
Sold within a day, quick 8p profit on a single item. Question is should it be even higher or is it fair? I haven't seen any others for sale, so I am flying blind. Requires 300 in Apothecary, rare/high end ingredients and you need to buy the recipe with a Plaque. Not a mark. Next time I get a plaque I'm thinking I'll go white dye. Bottomline I don't think anyone buys any potion other than health(which is frustrating). But I can see the attraction of a rare dye and I figure I ought to try to sell them before they become less rare. Last edited by jeff061 : 04-23-2011 at 07:45 PM. |

Buy the way, if anyone can get me x2 Eternal Planar Dust I'll make you some at no cost. It's the dust that makes it expensive for me.

If people buy it, then it's fair. They don't have to buy it. I would step it up to 17p next time.

Just checked again. Couple other guys posting, one at 14.5 and the other has 5 at 11.5. Seems to be the ballpark. There really is a flow to the schedule as far as when to post your items and how much you can charge and when.

Congrats on level 50, jeff!!!
Also, I just wanted to let people know that I'm really not playing much right now. I got a little burned out with my alt-itis, and am getting really tired of soloing. At the same time, it seems really hard to get a group together guild-wise right now, and I'm too distracted by my wife and kid in the evening to just group with random people. I'll get in the game sooner than later though, I'm sure.

Wasn't a whole lot of grouping before 50. Maybe a PUG here or there for the dungeons, but I skipped a few just to not PUG. Of course I am on Briarcliff with a very large guild so it's easy to get groups for expert dungeons and rifts. We also have quite a few Aussies so any time of day you can usually get a good group going.
I'm currently working on T2 dungeons, and the top guys are running Greenscale a coupel times a weekend.

Seems to be a big drop off in active players from the guild.. Where is everybody?
Who is in charge of the guild? Im in the top 8 ratings wise, but I'm still a "Recruit"? Can someone promote me? I can't even turn in guild quest as a recruit. (I'm Grandal, BTW). It's cool to have a guild with just FOF people in it, but should we start inviting other players in so that the guild can level better?

My gaming PC has took a crap. I have it in my local "computer fix it" place but I can't see me spending to much $$$$ to get it fixed. Crossing my fingers it's just something small and inexpensive but you know how that goes...

Did expert DD yesterday. Looted 4 or 5 rares that provided instant huge upgrades. Just crazy good stuff. Helps being the only mage when only mage loot was dropping. Though the others didn't appreciate it .
I've got 3 builds now, Necro for Solo, Pyro DPS and Chloro support/healing. Got the Pyro down, still working on the Chloro but that's what I was using during the aforementioned raid. Cool to have 1 character with 3 builds that provide a wildly different experience. Last edited by jeff061 : 05-04-2011 at 11:21 AM. |

So last night, I spawn into Scarred and their is a major rift event that just started, I went over and took on a life rift by myself.
Came back to the lift and there was non stop mobs rushing to attack the wardstone. Hit the public group..2 full raid groups were there. Then the big boy came. A lvl 32 Elite with 721K in HPs! It took all of us 15 to 20 minutes to drop the thing....the bad part with it, was the fact other mobs still kept coming. Several of us died a few times with this but it was definitely fun and crazy. I received a pretty good loot drop, Keenblade Maul and it helped bolster my attack.

I popped in briefly to see the quests-they are all daily quests in Meridian-one which will be pretty boring pretty quickly is to gather coins that are falling from the sky in Meridian-no combat unlike last time, just wait for them to show up. Other two involving getting dragon shells from fire/earth rifts/invasions/events-just remember that they have to be green to you-so within 10 levels of you. Found that out today when I got some from a level 21 I soloed, but not a level 20 I soloed-I'm 30'th level.

Got to say I'm enjoying the game more at 50 than anything. Level 50 chat is usually lively(for better or worse), always raids and expert dungeon crawls forming and I can focus on profiting with potions as well faction building. Have a lofty goal for the faction associated with Stillmoore which will allow me to get a specific mount. Not sure if I'll ever hit it though.

Well apparently they made dungeon bosses much easier. Which is unfortunate as I had been blowing by them already with any half decent group(ran IT expert in under 30 minutes yesterday). Not sure I understand that move. Ideally (for me) they would have left the status quo as is and made them more difficult in the future. Less grind, more challenge. Expert dungeons give significant loot payback on even a single run, grinding a few dozen isn't necessary.
Oh well. All the other changes are nice, LFG tool looks very promising. Last edited by jeff061 : 05-10-2011 at 03:23 PM. |

FYI. I've made a stupid amount of money with Apothecary the last 2 weeks. People complaining about crafting must not be doing it right.
And disregard my above post. I should have known better than to take people's whining at their word. While the garbage before bosses are relatively easy, the bosses themselves can be tricky if you don't have a half decent group. You will wipe if more than 1 person hasn't seen the boss before, you'll wipe again if people don't follow a strategy. Edit: That's from a expert dungeon view. All bosses have some tricks to them beyond tank and spank. Last edited by jeff061 : 05-15-2011 at 07:38 PM. |

Reached a MMORPG milestone today at lunch. Despite playing EQ 1 and 2 and WOW, I have never reached level 40 with a character until today.
The thing I like most about this game is it just gets funner as you progress. I almost stopped playing early because it just seemed too linear and while it still is to a large degree there is still enough variety and freedom to keep it interesting. |

Congrats. I'm flying back home today so will be back in action for the weekend.
I've enjoyed it 50 more than 1-49, even after several weeks. Would have been real nice to have the lfg tool when I was leveling though. Didn't play many of the normal dungeons and have some open quests because of it. |

I really got turned off slightly before 1.2 came out. I had based my server choice on a few friends of mine, and then pulled a few others onto the server to try and get us all together. Then the main guy ended up switching servers, his friend switched shortly after, and the other guys quit. So here's the FOFC guild looking like you guys are having fun, and I was totally abandoned by all my friends.
Thankfully there will be free server transfers, that really is important to me. I'm going to take that opportunity and run with it, hopefully can get together with some friends and have fun with the game again. |

Congrats, BYU. In a way, this is my first time I get past level 0. I had never played a MMO before ever, although I played solo RPG games when I was a kid. Just tells you how good of a game this is. Still learning little nuances of the game. Hopefully, about 4 or 5 of us will be at 50 in a couple of weeks.

Nice! I find playing the AH pretty fun. It's interesting that 2 items of similar quality/rarity can have a large variance in their selling prices. Some items that you would think would be in high demand and sellable are not (gold bars), and others of less quality (like Steel bars) sell pretty well.

Just started learning how to use my new healing chloro build, since it seems to be in demand for dungeons and such. Anyone ever use one?

Yeah I have one, if you are a mage you should. Period. If only so you can rez when needed, basically everyone in the party should have rez and you can trade SW.
So I have it, but I use it sparingly. The healing aspect of it is pretty easy, but I'm not experienced enough to do any DPS or have much of a strategy. For anyone wondering basically Chloro has spells that allows you to heal the party whenever you damage a mob or allows the party to heal themselves whenever they do any damage. So tons of passive healing and a couple more traditional healing spells as well as battle rez. But you also have the capability to do a decent amount of damage. So I've done maybe 1 or 2 dungeons with it, generally I just use it to rez. But yeah, if you have a Tank spec or a Heal spec and you queue up as one of those 2, chances are you'll find a party fast. You'll also just be blamed when things go wrong |

My primary is a Pyro/Warlock/Elementalist. Full on Pyro, enough to get a few key abilities on Warlock(a must for Pyro) and 5 in Elementalist to add 5% critical spell. Just added the Elementalist yesterday.

I have a 50 mage and am running Tier 2 dungeons regularly. I run Chloro 90% of the time. In Tier1 I can solo heal, but T2s it helps to have a bard or cleric for complimentary heals. The bottom line is you can keep the tank healed pretty well with Synthesis, but if the group as a whole is taking damage, your group heal is on a 20 second cooldown. The better you can nuke, the better you can heal. So the two popular off specs are Warlock or Archon. Warlock is easier since it has a lot of passive damage boosters. Archon is a little more tricky because you have to mix in quite a few more spells to boost your damage, but in the long run I thin Archon is the better second spec. The general consensus is that you don't go 51 in Chloro, it's just not worth it. My advice is queue for dungeons as support and if they need off healing then off up your services. Put Synthesis on the tank and run a rotation like Ruin, Radiant Spores, Natures Touch, Vile Spores, Vile Spores, Natures Touch, Vile Spores, Vile Spores, Ruin, Radiant Spores....Keep Bloom and Flourish in easy reach for emergencies, and mix in some cool downs to boost dps. Would be good to keep your cure spell handy as well, as some bosses yo uneed to cure a dot or curse off another player.

I agree, more and more I see chloro's queing as heal for T2s. It gets us to a dungeon quicker, but there is usually a boss or 2 they struggle keeping up with by themselves. I queue up DPS, and offer my services as a complete chloro noob . Not the best way to get experience, but I'm happy nuking. Last edited by jeff061 : 06-01-2011 at 01:01 AM. |

As a side note, I've seen more and more people say stormcaller or go home(apparently that's the latest whinefest on the forums?). I can say when I parse logs, as a Pyro/Warlock I am #1 by a fair amount pretty much every time. Single targets or AOE. Only negative part is it takes a fair amount of concentration, so difficult to pull off 100% on bosses with a lot of environment stuff going on.
And Apoth is apparently non profitable? All the more reason to avoid the forums. Learned that lesson with EQ, never bothered to check the Rift forums. Last edited by jeff061 : 06-01-2011 at 01:11 AM. |

I love having a chloro in my party - we have some in my guild that are really heavy chloro and can easily be the main healer. Can't comment much on mage DPS, as a rogue - I can say that my saboteur/assassin build is doing some serious damage though.
