Depends on why they did it... If a camera had been recording it to provide evidence to be used during divorce and custody hearings to demonstrate what a piece of shit mom & wife (but excellent whore!) she is, then I would say they took one for the team.

A bowling tournament is starting near my house in about an hour. I didn't get out of bed until an hour ago, and I hadn't eaten anything. I just ate a huge meal, and now I'm not sure if I'll be able to bowl effectively on a full stomach, even an hour from now. Pumpy did not plan his day well.

welp so much for that

Didn't poop my shorts. I was fine physically, but I was undone by mental errors. I kept thinking of Kathy Griffin.

So I'm watching the premiere of season 4 of the Clone Wars in the big movie theater at work on Friday and who sits right in front of me? George Lucas. No, I didn't ask him about the blu rays.

She is a big cat..The window pane wasn't thin, what I think it was is the wood in the frame holding was bad, and the window fell out then hit and shattered.

It's funny you mention that. Even though he has some pretty thick and healthy looking hair (yes, I'm jealous), I had no problems seeing the screen.

We want to get some estimates to do an addition to the house. We have a 5x10 area that is a deck that is on the second floor. I've been in the house and we have never used it nor intend to use it so.. thought about just putting up 2 walls, running the roof down and making it a walk in closet. Explained it to the first contractor last week, he said it was something they could do and would come out Monday to get the specs to do an estimate.

I adjust my work schedule and he calls up this afternoon and tells me that he thought about it, it isn't something he wants to do and we would pay more than we want to so he isn't coming. First thought, go f yourself. Second thought, Probably one of those people that sits around and bitches about the economy and third thought - thanks, you saved me from making a mistake because you obviously are not someone I want to deal with.

Seriously, I'd love to see how that transpired exactly. How do you get from A to B? Is there a transition at all, or is it more like:

"Hey Sarah, you should really work on validating Nick's feelings - instead of responding defensively, start with 'I hear that you're feeling X'. Communication is key to a good marriage. Now why don't you bend over so I can fuck you up the ass, and oh, could you suck off Jimmy here so he's not left out. Thanks".

I really don't know much more about the situation than what I referenced earlier. The one dude I met maybe 6 or 7 times and the other dude I only met once, at my friends wedding. When my buddy got married he moved about 30-40 minutes away and just had a kid so I really didn't and don't see him that much I just know that they all lived pretty close to each other and were tight.

When the breakup first occured he called me and mentioned in passing that "even bob and mark went over to talk to try and talk to her last night". It wasn't till a good year or so later that he told about the sex and him being in the car but it didn't really shock me.

Sounds like 90% of the contractors I've dealt with since we moved here. Truly the worst work ethic/business sense of any profession I've ever seen in my life, very consistent with anyone is that field in this area. It's not unusual to have to make 3-4 calls before you can even find anyone to show up for a quote (although it's amusing when they call back like three weeks later to try to schedule a meeting).

My experience has been that it's limited to the immediate area though, 30 miles away & we can find people who actually, you know, want to work.

Big +1 on that. Same issues here.

I did find one guy who would keep appointments, did a good job, and stuck to his estimate. He got $25K+ of work from me. Everyone else... just awful. No calls when they can't show up, weeks waiting for an estimate when I could get someone out there, crappy work when they do finally show up, etc. It's hard to believe some of these people stay in business with the communication and general business skills they exhibit on a daily basis.

Our IT department likes to send out emails now and then saying that they are taking measures to head off any increases in spam people are getting. I find it ironic, that they send that email about 5 times in one day in addition to all the other 'informational' emails.

The genius of Joe Posnanski:

Quote:
Time for a new JoeWord:

Blatt (v) The act of continuing to talk on the cell phone after the call has been dropped.

Example: "How long did I blatt before I finally realized that you were gone?"

Example: "I would have called you back like 10 minutes ago, but I kept on blatting."

Example: "I'll try to remember what I said, but I swear I'll never say it as well as when I was just blatting."

Why blatt? The "BL" comes from "blab." And the last three letters? Well, that should be obvious.

Maybe this belongs in the "Stalls" thread, but maybe not. In the restroom at work today, I heard the following exchange between two guys at the urinals:

Guy 1 farts.
Guy 2: "Bless you."
Guy 1 chuckles and farts again.
Guy 2: "Bless you."

I'm thinking all these turkeys that hang around my building that I work in and I see along side the road, will be hard to find in a little over a month from now.

And by turkeys, I mean the bird.

My favorite lyrics of the moment:

And why ya thinking you the only dude
She off in the mall livin off of you
Lettin everybody know she got you
And now you feel like a fool

No relevance to anything. Just really digging them lately.

Not really a random thought but a random find. I was at an antique store and found a complete Paydirt game with 1978 season teams. Cool find for just $10.

Ok- that's in the WTF territory. There's gotta be a rounding error there or something. Otherwise, we get to start rebuilding our particle physics books from scratch

Its almost unfathomable to me how god damn stubborn (and kinda irresponsible!) my mother is. She had rotator cuff surgery Wednesday. Her right arm is in a sling, she has specific instructions to rest, stay in her recliner, and no matter what don't use her right arm or she might undo any positive effects the surgery could have if she strains her shoulder. She's got some morphine based thing she can take every 12 hours and percoset every 4 hours. My sister and I both live with mom and dad so we can help take care of dad, and are trying to take care of mom as well, but so far all that's entailed is just hanging around and every 10-15 minutes or so when she is awake getting really freaked out and saying "Would you let me do that!? Stop using your arm!"

I think the high point is when she (a notorious meddler) decided she needed to get up and come to the kitchen to oversee the process of re-heating a chicken marsala dish that a family friend brought by, just to make sure it was done right. Or maybe it was last night when my sister couldn't find the TV remote and mom got up and tried to MOVE THE BED to help look for it.

I just erased a lot more bitching, I feel better now though, except for the fact that no one in the house got more than 3 hours sleep because she is now fighting everyone because she wants to sleep in her bed instead of the recliner, which is 100% against doctors orders for countless reasons. The second my sister and I tried to get a bit of sleep she got up, went to bed, fell asleep, rolled over on her shoulder in her sleep, woke up in massive pain and got everyone up. After we got her up, situated with new pain meds, she went to the bathroom, came back into her bedroom and sat down on the bed, and got pissed at both of us when we asked her to get in the recliner instead. Holy shit its going to be an awesome weekend.
