Trump has decided not yo try to move his Georgia case to Federal Court. It is believed he feels the Federal judge in the case might actually be worse to him than the Georgia judge.

One of former President Donald Trump’s co-defendants has pleaded guilty to five counts in the 2020 election subversion case in Georgia.

Bail bondsman Scott Hall, 59, is the first defendant in the case brought by the Fulton County district attorney’s office to take a plea agreement with prosecutors.

The agreement, entered in Fulton County Superior Court on Friday afternoon, recommends a sentence of five years probation.

Hall was accused of conspiring to unlawfully access voter data and ballot counting machines at the Coffee County election office on January 7, 2021.

He spent hours inside a restricted area of the election office when voting systems were breached, which was connected to efforts by pro-Trump conspiracy theorists to find voter fraud. Hall was captured on surveillance video at the office on the day of the breach. He testified before the special grand jury in the Fulton County case and acknowledged that he gained access to a voting machine.

He may not have qualified for one anyway.

It’s unclear that a jury trial would have been available under the statute, and it likely wouldn’t have been.

A judge threw out a motion to dismissed that was filed by Cheseboro. In the final statement the judge used a Monty Python reference.

On Nov 9th, 2022, U.S. Navy nuclear engineer Jonathan Toebbe and his wife, Dianna, were sentenced to 18 and 21 years in prison—respectively—for merely *attempting* to *sell* classified information about nuclear submarines to a foreign country. Trump blurted it out for free.

As a defense lawyer, I don't like it when co-defendants plead guilty and get probation.

That means they have some SHIT they are going to dump on my client.

Especially when there is no benefit to not snitching. I have a feeling that Greg Anderson profited (word choice intentional) more from not snitching on Barry Bonds than Sidney Powell would have for not snitching on the other defendants.

That is shocking. I would never have guessed she wouldn't fight to the end. As bad a lawyer as she is, she must have seen the writing on the wall. I wonder how useful she will be as a witness? She was in the White House when most of these plans were made, and arguably the chief architect of much of it. At the very least she would seem to be a perfect witness to support the RICO elements.

CBS said about $8,700 in financial restitution. Think she got a sweet deal, hoping that means she has a lot to offer.

I'm curious how her testimony is going to play out. Trump is obviously going to play the "I was just following legal advice" card so it's likely she can't just say "I gave knowingly wrong legal advice" but also has to add, "and I told Trump/Rudy it was wrong and we all knew we were pushing a big lie to try to keep him in office illegally." Otherwise, to the extent the legal advice defense has any merit, she plays into Trump's defense. So there must be more to it.

The case against her? If it were in trouble then why would she take any plea deal? This plea is going to cost her dearly. She is no longer going to be the darling of the conspiracy theory circuit which was her only income. The "rat" is going a pariah among the nut-jobs. If she had a good chance to win, there is zero chance she pleas.

They wouldn't offer her the deal without knowing what she'd say and they can pull the deal if she doesn't cooperate.

Typically plea deals include a stipulation that the person cooperate and testify truthfully as requested, or the plea deal is nullified.

Could be some drama tomorrow in Trump Org's Fraud Trial. Judge had ordered Trump to take down his social media attack on his law clerk who for some reason Trump is fixated on. They took down some of it, but until tonight it was still up on his personal website until someone found it was still there...and now the judge knows about it, and wants both sides there tomorrow.
