Falcons looking good early. Of course that has been said many times before a collapse.

Looks like Frank Reich is going to get the heat turned up on his seat today.

That nullifies Jets pick was fun to watch. A bunch of laterals and a lot of yards

The Falcons have just started running at will on what looks like an exhausted Clevland defense. They just had a 12 play TD drive, all on the ground. Caleb Huntley with most of the carries, a kid was just signed off the practice squad. He was just ripping through the defense. The Falcons look good when Marriota isn't throwing.

The Falcons defense in turn looks just as soft. This could be a ground grind shoot out to end this gsme.

Lions just hit peak-Lion. Had Seahawks at 3rd and 16 in a one-score game, stopped them, but the play was done over due to a clock error (at Detroit) and on the re-do, Seahawks scored a TD.

Tyrod Taylor just got laid out on a qb run. Holy shit you don't see qbs take hits like that anymore.

On a side note, the Dolphins doctor cleared him to return.

Zappe entering the game for New England. The second class of 2022 quarterback to play meaningful minutes this season. Hopefully he'll fare better than Pickett, though it's hard to evaluate two rushing touchdowns and three interceptions in so short a time.

Speaking of last legs... I thought last year showed Melvin Gordon was pretty much done and I was shocked the Broncos brought him back rather than find a younger, better back. He killed us with a couple of key fumbles last year, for a guy who was always known for ball security. Hint, hint. 3.5 games into this season, he's got 4 fumbles. He's done.

And of course, Javonte Williams looks to be seriously hurt. Hopefully not, but no weight on his leg at all.

I get the idea behind Harbaugh's decision, but Baltimore is a defensive team and I think they should have kicked and made Buffalo match.

My beloved Cards finally get their first lead in a game this season (in regulation), and finally beat their nemesis, the Panthers. Probably because Cam Newton wasn't on the roster. Their reward? a game against the undefeated Eagles next week. Yeah?

I think the Lions legit have half a team this year. That's more than you can usually say after the first four games. That would be encouraging signs of progress if we hadn't been here so very, very many times before.

Maybe they break through and become respectable by the end of the year/more likely next year. I'm just not buying it yet.

Success in life is having a 2-man crew carry you away so you can have a poop.

I mean that's basically Egyptian pharaohs and DK Metcalf.

He said the thing with the Tua incident is players especially offensive players are expected to bounce back up after a big hit to show that he was not affected by the hit no matter how much pain they were in. That is exactly what Tua did. The player said if Tua had just laid on the field, not try to walk it off while he cleared the cobwebs a little bit, then walked to the locker room with the assistance of the medical staff and everything else plays out as it did on Sunday, we don't have the controversy before the game on Thursday. The wobble is what did him in according to the player He also said that players would tell other players to make sure they kept them on the ground in such cases for just this reason.
Yerp, it's basic human instinct to an extent.

But he did sit up, that wobble happened, and then when ignorant guys on couches like me pointed out it didn't seem right the NFL and Dolphins denied it up until he got lit the fuck up again and they fired the doctor. Because he totally made that call on an island? Or we aren't allowed to question "nfl team doctor's" judgement? I hope he doesn't have severe long term damage from that alone, but it was obvious in real time.

I think a college team setup a tent for players who need to use the bathroom on the sideline this weekend. Was kind of a mini injury tent.

Hard to think of a more entertaining first 1/3 of a career than Mahomes has had.

I'm also really glad they won that Super Bowl so all the talking heads can't drag out that tired "but can he win the big one?!" talking point. Just let us enjoy him.

Denver's season about over as Javonte Williams is confirmed to have torn his ACL. It's Melvin Gordon and some dude named Boone who got a few carries yesterday but hadn't been asked to do much prior (I'm assuming he's been a special teamer).

The hit on the fan running on the field last night is bringing out videos from the good ol' days on Twitter of similar hits. I've seen two, one of which is Ditka taking a guy - and the security officer chasing him - clean off their feet.

They signed Latavius Murray off the Saints practice squad. Maybe a step up from Gordon - unless Gordon figures out how to keep hold of the ball.

It's not often that things appear exactly like they play out, but Brady returning from retirement pissed his wife off, he left training camp to deal with the impending divorce, and now the divorce is public. It's exactly what it looked like when he all of a sudden left training camp.

He's not quite Chase Daniel, who has only 1700 career yards yet has over $40M in career earnings, but Blake Bortles has done ok for himself (and been immortalized as Jake Jortles)

With a major qualification - Tom Brady playing with the Bears most likely doesn't come close to those numbers.

I think this is the third Bronco game I've watched this year just due to dumb luck. They are not an entertaining team.
