Good afternoon and it involved no drinking!

On my way to work, I stop off at Subway. As I'm ordering my sandwich, someone walks in, over to the counter, taps me and the shoulder and says hi. It was the waitress from the bar Talked for a few minutes then each went our own ways. Certainly the last thing I expected.

I would just follow her back to her place and ask her out there. That way there's no connection to the bar and she'll appreciate your motivation.

Or you'll end up in jail for "stalking" her.

Working on beer number four. I'm such a lightweight that I'll be lit up by my seventh or eighth.

When you've walked out of a bar after drinking 15 screwdrivers and 6 beers, you can tell me to go out with "the wives."

The real drinkers don't total up how many drinks they've had.

God, back from perhaps the worst date of my life. Blah, blah, blah.

Only thing that kept the night mildly interesting is that her roomate worked at the restaurant. Now that girl I like! She was drinking on the job and provided alot of needed comic relief. My kind of woman

Stopped for a drink on my way home and apparently didn't down it fast enough because I'm in that self reflective mood where I have no more desire to drink and just mope around thinking about what a complete failure my life is.

Should have asked the waitress out though, even if completely shot down, embarrassed, and exiled from my favorite bar, the night would have surely been better than tonight.

But that day will come...

The philosophy I've adopted is: "It doesn't matter.....even Bill Gates will one day be dead, and all of his accomplishments will be for naught, and one day my body will be ingested by scavenging, spineless creatures just like his. And so is the plight of what is called life."

Good philosophy. I'm always intrigued by such sayings, but when it comes to enacting then, I never can

So I went shopping for Mothers Day. After 5 different places, I finally found the perfect card!

*Front* - "Cheers on Mothers Day!" (martini illustration)

*Inside* - "I know it's not traditionally a drinking holiday, but I say why the hell not!"

Alas, I could not buy it as it would only reinforce the erroneous idea that both of my parents currently hold that I'm becoming an alcoholic

This thread has reached new and sickening heights. Alcoholism is nothing to joke about nor is it anything you can just claim to have - it also doesn't make you cool.

amdaily, you've got a problem and I've got a hunch that is has little to do with alcoholism. You get kicks out of sharing your misery with people that can do very little to help you and it's beginning to get pretty tiresome. Go seek help from someone that can actually give it instead of bringing people down. Good riddance.

I didn't know there was a party going on here. I could've sworn it was just a thread taken over by a couple of guys who don't know how to use a social drug. By social, I mean drinking around people and having fun, not lining up beers by your keyboard and crying out to the interactive world.

No drunks in a week? Surprising.

I got good and drunk after an uncle's birthday and had my mind set on asking that waitress out, but it was not to be for a variety of reasons which I will not explain.

Tomorrow will be the day though, no more excuses or pussying out.

The lady is out of town, so I picked up a sixer of Shiner Light. That, combined with a few shots of Patron, should give me a nice buzz in my lightweight state yet not leave me so hungover that I suffer at work tomorrow morning.

I picked up a growler of Old Dominion Oak Barrel Stout today while at the brewery for dinner.

However, I won't open it til tomorrow.
O

Oh, for those that don't know. Growler. The picture in the link is actually one of Old Dominion's growlers.
